Is there now a cost for using the internet on the in room computers at the CR?

Someone I know told me they just stayed in a Magic Kingdom view at the Contemporay and I asked her if the internet on the in room computers was still free? She said it was now $10.00, so I am wondering can anyone confirm this? I am asking because in a recent thread on here someone who just stayed at the Contemporary said the internet was still free, so I don't know which answer to believe. I do know there would be a cost to use the internet because that is what Cast Member on the Atrium Club told me last August, so I knew it would not be free forever.

Hummm... not sure but it should be free cause you pay alot to stay there.

I like the way you think saying the use of the internet should be free since it does cost a lot to stay at the Contemporary and it would be a nice thing of them to do by making it free. However since WDW is a business they always want to make money so I don't see them making the internet free.

as far as i know, it was only free during the initial piloting phase, for lack of a better term. whether that's over or not, i don't know, but it's expected to be charged. as it was, in room broadband at all of the resorts was initially free once it was installed until the actual live date.

it's been pointed out elsewhere that within the hotel industry, it's actually usually the more expensive hotels that tend to charge for things like internet access, so if anything, it makes more sense to charge concierge guests at the CR.

For the record it would be all the guests being charged for the internet and not the Concierge guests because the computers are in every room at the Contemporary. Besides how fair would it be making it free for guests on regular Tower floors and the South Garden Wing rooms, but only charging the Concierge guests?

sorry, my mistake. i thought the computers were only in the concierge level rooms. well there you have it then. why should it be free when every other resort guest has to pay?

When the Contemporary started with the computers in their rooms, at 1st they were only on the Concierge floors and later on they were installed in the regular rooms in the Tower and South Garden Wing.

I'm guessing about as fair as it would be to let the concierge guests have it for free while charging the "regular" guests...
