Had a very enjoyable time at this resort. I was definitely swayed by Buzz and many other Disers who suggested this resort...So to all of you thank you thank you for persuading me to try CSR. Will report in full on trip report but to summarize....

we were in Cabanas 8A. I wanted 9B but this was okay. Personally though I would not want to stay any further from main bldg.

We had room 8223 which was a corner room. This is probably the worst room on floor because even though we had a water view, the view was completely hindered by the blinds in corner. Wasn't so bad because the moderates have no balconies so you really can't sit outside and enjoy the view. Rooms were nice and clean. Beds were adequate. I was happy to see they had a curtain between main room and bathroom. This made it so much easier each morning. Especially since I had two 16 yr old boys with me. Thought the water pressure in shower was a little light, but nothing so serious to even complain. I did like the fact that you had a big area to put toiletries in the tub area.

We only had a 5 minute walk to main pool or building. Hammocks were always empty to sit upon. I found the carts to take people from one location to another were always running. Pool was crowded but absolutely okay. We got a seat both times.

Jury still out for me on the Pepper Market. We were on the dining plan so DH got steak which he really liked. I got chinese which was just okay. The pastas and pizzas looked inedible so we moved on.
Breakfast was a much better choice. Omelets were made to order so much better. If I had to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10....with dining plan a 6, without dining plan a 4.

My favorite spot in CSR was Sanfriscos(god I hope this is right) It is the bar in the main building. What a wonderful bar. The bartenders there make a mean martini and their margaritas are the best I have ever ever had on any WDW property. You get complimentary chips and homemade fresh salsa. Bartenders extremely nice, helpful and fun to talk to. One night we went to the bar and ordered appetizers for dinner with a drink. It was such an enjoyable nite for DH & I. If you do not prefer to sit at the bar there are several tables and chairs surrounding the bar . Even if I don't spend my next trip at CSR I will still go back to this bar that is how much I enjoyed it.

Buzz: wondering if you enjoy it there as well.

Transportation was good. No problem with buses. We were bus stop #4 but got off at bus stop #1 and just hoofed it

Any questions, please ask.,,,,hope I can help

I do prefer this resort to POR and POFQ where I have also stayed

Welcome back! It's Francisco's and it is under going a rehab to make it larger. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the post! Will be at CSR in July. We loved POFQ in November but wanted to give CSR a try. I'm glad you liked it!

No, I never had the chance. I heard the salsa and tequilla are good. What did you like about it?

The salsa is extremely fresh and homemade. The chips are warm and crispy. The margaritas are served in a nice glass and the taste is wonderful. whatever mix they use it is perfect. Servers are fantastic to talk to.

I could of stayed there all night. But then again, I would of had to take a taxi back to my room:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Glad to hear you had such a nice trip. So far CSR is our favorite resort. DH tried to get us to stay there this year but I'm a lady on a mission to stay at ALL the resorts. We will return to CSR one day.

To answer BigDopeyMom's question: Your DS should love the slide at CSR. Our DDs loved it and so did DH;) The pool is awesome and I think the slide at CSR looks better than the slide at AKL and WL.

How is the pool at CSR? Is there a cool slide that my DS7 would love??
The best!! A 123ft slide, an arcade, a playground, and a sand volleyball court are all housed at the main pool area.

My DS is 10 and he LOVED the pool. So did my DD, 5 years old.
It is amazing.

We are planning on going back next year. You will love CSR!!!!!!

Is it under rehab right now??? We're heading there in two weeks -- will it be closed?? :worried: It sounds like a great place to try while we're there, I'll be disappointed if we can't check it out.

According to the DIS rehab schedule it is undergoing rehab to make it larger.

1. Laguna Bar being constructed in outside promenade from now thru 4/28/07
2. Francisco's - 4/16 - 10/12 - Being expanded to include the Jumping Beans Arcade space - When open it will be a bar, lounge and cafe (La Tienda convenience store will be relocated as part of this refurbishment)

25 more days until my honeymoon at CSR. I really can't wait. This will be my fiance's 1st time to the world. What a place to bring her for her 1st time. :thumbsup2

Where do I find the rehab schedule? Thanks!

When I was there the arcade was closed but it didn't look like the bar area was in the process of being touched at all. Maybe it will not go down until May.

I cannot say how the slide was but the 2 sixteen year old boys had fun.

I really enjoyed the hot tub. Quite large and roomy. I really enjoyed it's location to the pool.

I wanted to try the quiet pool but couldn't fit it in. This was a short trip and we were on someone else's schedule so I was glad that I got to do somewhat of what I wanted.

Also, wanted to mention that check in was a breeze. Always 5-6 CM on duty and the concierge/ticket desk was always staffed. At least 3-4 people there daily.

Thank goodness because those DANG STUPID CARDS that Disney makes always Demagnitizes. I can't begin to tell you how much trouble we had with those stupid cards. CSR concierge was very helpful and straightened out my daily problems

And before anyone asks,....I did not have it next to a cell phone. DH kept all cards in his pocket which had no electronic devices next to it.

My card was the only problem.

Seems like many people had problems when I was there. One day 20 people out of our group all had problems.
