refillable mugs

Refillable mugs are purchased at your resort and are refillable there and there only for this and this only trip!

(this has been a HOT issue but that there is the way it works)

Mugs are around $12 so if you won't use your resort's food court much then maybe not worth it. Otherwise it is, seeing as an average coffee or soft drink is around $2!

Ok, I've mentioned it before, but most sit down restaurants are happy to give you a refill of any refillable soft drink that you may have ordered for your meal for your mug at the end of your meal if you ask.

There are also refillable mugs you can buy at the Waterparks. Yet like the resort ones, they can only be refilled at the waterpark from which they were purchased. :upsidedow

You can only refill your mug at the resort you are staying at. Also, you can only use the mug you bought for your current stay.

Yes, it is only for the resort you are staying at, and also only for the length of your stay. It is approximately $12/ mug, but if you are a coffee, tea, soda, lemonade drinker, and are staying for a week, it's worth it's refills in gold! A normal cup of coffee/tea/soda/lemonade will cost you approx. $2, so if you get a cup of coffee in the am, then a glass of soda in the afternoon, and a cup of coffee/tea/etc. in the evening....you make up for the $12 cost by day two! I have 2 cups in the am, then fill with iced tea later on, then any type of decaf in the evening......and then you have a nice souvenir when you get home! (I bring a travel size bottle of dish detergent, as the "rinse" station is exactly that...you rinse out your mug, but no cleansing agents are available, and I'm not crazy about my drinks tasting like facial/body soaps!)

General rule of thumb is like everyone said where you buy is where you can get it refilled. However some places if all you want is water to drink they don't have a problem giving it to you. We generally found this to be a really great value. We always filled up in the morning heading into the parks and at night when we got back. They were also handy in the parks we could just dump our drinks into the mugs and go about our way. They were particularly handy at Epcot we didn't mind the water and kept refilling our mugs at the water fountains. Saved a bunch of money. This time we have those little crystal light packets to take with us to use. So the mugs become even more handy.

Am I required to purchase one per person? The kids will not drink a whole mug anyway....

I think it would depend on how old your children are. If they are little ones no one would say anything.

They are not little - 9 and 15. But again, judging from experience, they drink 2 sips and are done....They typically share drinks anywhere we go.

we have been useing the same mugs 3 times a year for 4 to 5 years ..noone says a word.i see older ones than that everytrip..we use it at any resort we are touring and never any trouble.i see it all the time..

Come on gang...the OPs question was answered yesterday. Can we let this thread die a natural death? Can't we just have ONE refillable mugs thread that doesn't turn into a debate?? :rotfl:

They don't care who drinks out of the mugs! You could buy 1 mug for the entire family and it is ok. I did use a mug from a previous trip and no one said anything, but I wouldn't recommend it.

To the OP:

Refillable mugs is a hot topic around here. The mugs actually hold what I consider to a be only a 'small' amount (given their huge size) .. but nonetheless, if your kids wanted to share, what the hey..

All the other comments in this thread about using the same mugs trip after trip etc are OFF TOPIC.

So, since the OP's question has been asked and answered and since nothing else good can come of this.. I'm closing it.

To BobP's comment -- we had that thread last week about the barcodes etc. That one isn't dead.. It's still kickin somewhere.. And not closed! Take the small victories where we can get 'em I guess.

Move along nothing to see here. ;)
