There is a bloke playing the bagpipes outside my house!!

I live in a residential area but we have quite a few parks, playing fields, dog walking fields mixed in amongst the houses. Our house shares a fence with a playing field which is usually only used by 4 kids on our street and the 3 people who walk their dogs there every day so it is usually very quiet. So I am out in the back garden painting the fence (as the old one blew down in the high winds and we had to replace it) and I hear these really loud bagpipes. So I take a look over the fence to see a bloke wondering around the field playing the bagpipes! Now I am a musician and I know people need to practice (and boy does he need to practice!!) but in the middle of the field! He has been playing Over the sea to Skye for 30 minutes now (and he hasn't really improved!) So I think my fence painting can be called off for a few hours!!

I'm Scottish and I love the bagpipes, but I can sympathise with you !

They are an acquired taste, definitely. Maybe he should find a quiet hall somewhere to practice, so he doesn't frighten everyone away.

When well played they are lovely, trust me !!

I know the bagpipes can sound lovely when played properly (I guess thats why this guy really does need to practice!) Maybe his wife chucked him out when he was practicing at home!!!!

Well bagpipe bloke has gone, aparently large dogs don't care for bagpipes much . The bloke in our street who has 4 hounds (these dogs are like horses you could sadle them up and ride them!!) went to walk them, bagpipe man sure did move swiftly .

Now we have 4 kids (they can't be more than 12/13) sat on the field sharing a 2 litre bottle of strongbow . I have lived here 9 years and have never seen kids on the field drinking before.

The kids have gone now. At least they put their empty bottle in my recycle bin at the end of my drive instead of just dropping it on the field.

Maybe I should add, we have plenty of Scottish culture around here, we have a Glasgow rangers supporters club at the end of the next street to us. Aparently it's the biggest club outside Scotland! And our local chippy sells battered haggis and chips (my husband loves that!!)

I can't say we've ever had bagpipes outside our flat!
Although that may be an improvement on the screaming baby who lives below us
If the babies not screaming the mother is blasting out Justin Timberlake on repeat!
