Now before I say anything, you have to remember this is all second hand info, I my self don't want to get excited about it because as second hand info, you need to take it with a grain of salt. But either way, I need to share this info with you.
A while ago, I did a thread here about over hearing 2 staff members at AKL talking about the pirates resort late at night (im a nite owl). I have no idea where that post went because the search option doesn't work. So, I forgot about that.
Last friday night, 2 days ago, I went out to eat at a nice restaurant with an old friend that was up to visit friends and relatives in the area. He and his wife, and my wife and I. He was very excited about a project that would put his company above and beyond any competitors. He's a contractor for a pool company. They have a project to build the worlds largest pool or the way he put it was, the worlds largest contained filtered water environment, something like that. And I congratulated him, and asked who it was that needed such a pool. He then said the whole project was hush hush, they had to sign agreements to keep it quiet until notification. Now at this point, I wanted to know about this more then ever, but I still never thought disney had anything to do with it. For some reason it never connected. I was thinking some water park was opening somewhere, or maybe its in some other country, I didn't know. So, I sat there, itching to know what it was, and thinking of ideas to make him talk. Now, he and his wife always have many drinks when they go out to eat. About 5 each, at least. To the point they are a bit tipsy, but not yet drunk. So, this hatched a plan. After they finished there 5th drink, I waited for the waiter to come over, and said "could you please bring them 2 more, on me, thank you" and told them it was to celebrate this new project he got. To cut to the chase, I ended up buying 6 more drinks each.
At which point, he was zooted. Now, I don't know about a anyone else, but when he's like this, he always tells the truth. So, I slipped it into the conversation again, and he told me that disney was the one who contracted him to build this. He told me it was the size of a small lake. And that it was for a new resort. That it was going to need 8 very large filtration systems, 4 always functioning, and 4 as backup to keep it clear, like ocean water. And this was all I got out of him.
If I were to guess, its for a pirates resort for sure. But like I said, I don't want anyone to take this for 100% fact. It is second hand info after all.
Is there anyone else out there that has any info about this new resort?
PS: His identity is safe, he is one of many contractors working on this.
