Clue to POC 3 in POC 2 ???

An on-line Pirates "rumor page" suggested the following storyline for POC "At World's End": Tia Dalma is really the sea goddess Calypso. She was the woman Davy Jones had fallen in love with, and her betrayal of him broke his heart, which he then cut out and buried. It sounded a little far-fetched to make those two characters former lovers. BUT...As I was watching Dead Man's Chest for the umpteenth time, I noticed something. Jack and the crew go to Tia Dalma's hut for information about the key to the chest. Tia Dalma goes in the back to prepare Jack's jar of dirt. Jack takes that opportunity to steal a ring from a bunch of stuff on a table. In that bunch of stuff is a heart-shaped locket. The SAME locket is on Davy Jones' pipe-organ later in the movie. Will Turner hits it by accident and it opens to show a music box and it plays a melody. Maybe there IS a link between Davey Jones and Tia Dalma after all. Does anyone know if Tia Dalma is scheduled to make more than a cursory appearance in POC 3?

I don't know for sure, but I did see speculation to that effect last year. Certainly it seems they have set Tia Dalma for a pretty significant role. I don't know how that will translate to screen time, but she's already apparently brought back Barbossa, and as you said there's got to be some significance to the ring and locket.

The word "dalma" comes from the Turkish language and translates into dive, diving, submersion, or plunge in English. This could lend some credence to your theory that she is a sea nymph if not Calypso.

Whoops,got something wrong,lol. I just don't want her to be Calypso.I think if she was Calypso,she would have kept him around,she wanted Odesseus to stay in the Odessey.

Some of the images leaked from AWE show her on one of the ships, so I'm guessing she'll be around quite a bit.

Oh boy, I guess I am going to have to watch this one more time.....darn it all .... I kept wondering what the significance was of him picking up that ring and putting it in his pocket...I am going to have to take a closer look at that locket.
I just actually watched POTC for teh first time a couple weeks ago, then had to buy part two the next day....Immediately hooked. And to think I couldn't understand what all the pirate fascinaiton was......uhhh til I watched LOL!

I got to participate in the Pirate Ultimate Fan Event yesterday, which included a viewing of the new trailer. Tia Dalma is definitely in the third movie.
