Do you like LTT Character Dinner?

We've been to LTT for lunch, but we're (DH, DD 20 months, and me) thinking of going for dinner in April. Can you tell me about the character interaction and food for dinner? Also, how is the cherry cobbler dessert, and do you order extra desserts for the extra charge, or do you feel the cherry cobbler hits the spot? Thanks!

We love LTT for lunch and did the character meal there once. Compared to lunch, the food was a full grade lower, I'd say. It wasn't awful or inedible, just kind of bland and tasted somewhat processed. I know Stouffer's is the sponser of the charcter meal and it even says on the menu that it's Stouffer's stuffing that's used. Not a big problem with that, just that everything was so fresh and original at lunch that we were surprised the dinner was less so. The cherry cobbler was very much like the kind you'd get at a chain restaurant buffet.

On the other hand, the charcter interaction is great and it was fun to see the characters in colonial costume. I think your DD would love it and it's certainly worth a try.

We have eaten both lunch and dinner and I agree that the lunch menu is just much better. The dinner does taste very processed. The characters are great though. If we do a character meal...we prefer the more expensive buffet ones...more choices.

Okay we have done Chef Mickeys for both breakfast and dinner. We got an early dinner ressie and felt it was much calmer than our two breakfast meals there. Those were a bit CRAZY. Years ago we did the Donald one...it was okay but again that was years ago. We loved CP ..did that for breakfast so when we were done...we walked right out when MK opened. I have heard great things about it for lunch and dinner too. We had breakfast at 1900 Parkfare this past Jan. It was okay....

Oh the POly has a nice character meal...fun for kids....but it is served family style.. How many are you planning?

We loved LTT for dinner. We found the overall selection to be tasty and plentiful. I only like my stuffing and didn't even eat theirs but we did like the mashed potatos and the kids mac & cheese which we shared with the kids. We have also eaten lunch and while the menu is very different I would not say it is better or worse, just different.

In January our dessert was apple cobbler. We found the character interaction to be a lot of fun and unlike Garden Grill it was easier to stand up, get a picture and a hug etc. with the characters since we were not confined to a booth.

As someone else posted, dessert is now apple cobbler (has been for over a year). Also, the mac n cheese is listed as a Stouffer's product and is the only Stouffer's product served at LTT.

The meal is tasty but not fine dining (I doubt toddlers would enjoy fine dining anyway The lunch menu is more unique and has great offerings. Both meals are very good.

The dinner does taste very processed.

I liked the dinner for just this reason. The comfort food served was "just like Mom used to make" -- out of a box! But DH, whose parents both cook well, enjoyed it too.

My family loves LTT for dinner and I can't wait to go back this April. Yes, the food is Stouffers, but we really liked it. We thought the character interaction was excellent and we saw them more than once even when the restaurant was fully packed.

Its carved turkey, not the turkey loaf kind. And I have always heard they variate between cherry and apple cobbler. I know we have had both in the same year and had cherry when we went there last April. Some say its processed, some say its not. I like it very much, for the food and atmosphere. Its certainly not gourmet but then I have yet to find a character meal this is.

Booked GG for lunch too!!DGD calls it the spinning restaurant. As this isour first trip I went by menus and these boards. Hope we like all our choices!!

Iam so glad to see this thread. We booked LTT for the character dinner next week and I've been reading so many bad reviews lately that I was beginning to think I made the wrong choice. After reading all your reviews I think Iam going to keep the reservation. Glad I ran into this one!

We make ADRs there whenever we go to a party. I like the food, sort of thanksgiving like. I'm not crazy about the ham that comes with the meal but the rest of the meal is good.

The characters are also great.

I think LTT was my favorite character meal when we were there last year. The food wasn't fine dining, but it was still really good. The salad with Stawberry Vinagrette was awesome...my DW fav thing on the trip I think. The roast beef and turkey were moist and tender, and the sides were excellent even if it was from a box. Dessert was so good we asked for a 2nd and they brought it free of charge (of course we felt bad because we were so stuffed we only took like 2 oe 3 bites) We saw all the charcters twice, and a Goofy 3 times, with Minnie on her way when we left. And yes I had plenty to compare it to (Chef Mickey Dinner, Crystal Palace Dinner, Akershaus Princess Lunch, and Breakfast @ AK)
