Does anyone have any firm information on just when this restaurant will be opening? Member Services had no information at all; they actually didn't even know that there was a plan to open a new one.

Subscribing-I'd like to know as well. CM told me they had no idea when it's opening. All she knew was it was going to be sometime this summer.

I am interested in this too! We will be there towards the end of August and although I have already made our ADRs, I have CTs left. Does anyone know definately what the menu is going to be? How expensive will it be? Where do you find out things like this?:confused3

Well if anyone does find some solid information please post it. I'll be there in July and would love trying something new!!!

But as of this posting Member Services has no information and I was told to keep checking the "offical" WDW website incase this is just a rumor. :lmao:

WDW Magic has a recently taken photo of a sign declaring "Yak & Yeti - Opening 2007", whilst Intercot speculates that the sign suggests that the originally slated summer opening date may have slipped to the fall.

There's nothing on Landry's site other than the initial press release this time last year.

I thought I read it will be run by the same company as the Rain Forest Cafe. I wonder if that means it will not be on the meal plan

Yes to both: It will be operated by Landry's and it will not participate in the Dining Plan.

Deb Will's has the name listed as Ying & Yak. Here is the info from her site:

Coming Summer 2007 - Ying and Yak, an Asian themed restaurant will debut in the Village of Anandapur in Animal Kingdom's Asia in Summer 2007. It will offer both table and counter service dining options, as well as house retail space with Asian-inspired merchandise, such as sushi plates and fine teapots. The restaurant will be operated by the Rainforest Cafe's Landry's Restaurants.

The actual construction signage for it at AK says Yak & Yeti. But perhaps Debs has some inside scoop? Both pretty bad names for a TS, but would work for CS. It might well change several times before opening.

I believe Ying & Yak was the originally-planned name, and Yak & Yeti is a later intention.

So dissappointing that its not on the dining plan. :sad1:

With it being a TS I wonder if people with the DDE card will still be able to get the 20% off at the CS restaraunts in AK? :confused3 I know the Rainforest Cafe at AK only accepts the DDE after a certain hour, so we were able to use the DDE at CS in AK up until now, because no TS restraunt was available at AK that accepted the DDE for lunch.

I know the Rainforest Cafe at AK only accepts the DDE after a certain hour......

What's the time? I'd be interested in knowing. I was told that we couldn't use the plan there.

That post is saying Rainforest may accept the DDE discount card after a certain hour, not DDP.

None of the Landry's restaurants at WDW accept the dining plan. Although I am wondering if this one will negotiate something different as it will be inside a park. Some of the Epcot restaurants are not run by Disney and they accept it.

Yak & Yeti is supposed to have both TS and CS available, probably like Raglan Road.

Thanks for the clarification on the Rainforest! That would be great if the Yak & Yeti is opened when we're back in July. :cool1:

Respectfully, I don't think you should post "and it will not participate in the Dining Plan." in the same sentence as "will be operated by Landry's."

It makes your DP participation opinion sound like a fact and it's not. The Landry info is official, particpation in the DP is not. That's an assumption that may or may not be correct.

How longhas RFC accepted the DDE? When we where there in the Fall it was not accepted. I'll try it on my summer visit
