Any advise for a hotel w/indoor pool. We are trying to plan a December 07 trip to SD & DL, but obviously we will be busy during the day & only want the pool at night. I think even for SD it will be a bit chilly at night for an outdoor pool - right?

Any help out there??????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Are there just no hotels w/indoor pools? In Dec at night won't it be too cold to swim outdoors? I'm from Illinois - someone throw me a bone, please!

I can't think of any hotels in all of Southern California, let alone San Diego. The pools at the larger hotels are going to heated so swimming is still allowed. The air tempeture won't be too bad unless there's a storm rolling through. The ocean tempeture around here is usually in the sixities, even through most of the summer. The tourist industry around here is based on sun; us locals are used to swimming in cold water. We don't need indoor pools.

The Embassy Suites in LaJolla has an indoor pool. We stayed there a few years ago when we went to Sea World before heading to Anaheim. It's a very nice hotel with an awesome free brekafast buffet. An added bonus is PF Chang's is right next door!

I take my GK's often to San Diego as my youngest DD is a student at the University of San Diego. Average temp in December is about 60 degrees and with a heated pool should not be a problem. We often stay at the Marriott Residence Inn in San Diego Mission Valley. We get steaks at the local Whole Foods and use their outdoor bar-b-que.

Here is their website:

Doubletree San Diego Mission Valley

Pacific Terrace Hotel

Sheraton Suites on Ash St.

(haven't stayed at any of these, check the reviews first, always call hotel a couple of weeks in advance to double-check that the pool will be open, not under renovation etc)
