Parasailing at CC cancelled...

Just thought that some of you would like to know that
I just received a call from Disney Cruise Line and Parasailing at CC
has been cancelled, at least for the day we will be there which is
March 9th - I was told that they are having problems with the vendor.

Too bad - this is our 1st cruise and this was mine and ds 1st time parasailing

Well, on the bright side - we are still cruising March 3rd and looking forward to it

Sylvia - Thanks for the info. We haven't gotten our call yet to tell us about the cancellation. We'll be sailing with you and DH was booked to parasail on CC. I'm too cheap so DD13 and I were going to tandem parasail on St. Maarten. This is interesting. I was on the 2/4 Wonder and had parasailing booked at CC for me and and my boyfriend. We had problems with the company, and never actually "went up," although we were on the boat and had all of the gear on and everything. We were given a full refund and an apology by the manager. I wonder if Disney is noticing some issues with the company and is trying to find someone else.

I wonder if this is the same company that I had. I paid for me to go solo, but they wanted to stick me with this 12 year old boy, I guess to save time. Here I paid for a solo trip and they wanted me to go up with this strange kid? I think not!!!
I made a fuss and they let me go up by myself like originally planned.

We were too.

We went parasailing with them on the previous cruise (on CC Feb 3) and had no problems. its the second time we have used that same crew without a problem.

It was cancelled during our April 2006 cruise due to high winds. Sounds like it's a hit or miss shore excursion.

How long is your cruise? I wouldn't be surprised if they had parasailing in nassau, or other ports of call if you're doing a 7 day. CC was cool though...it was my first time parasailing, and first time on CC, but not my first disney cruise...we weren't able to go to CC the first time because of high winds.

Well when we arrived CC as the weather seem windy and CC had cancelling parasailing for my husband which he loved it! He was a bit disappointed cos first time on CC but he got refund. Apart from that we had a lovely times on CC.

I hope you will get it on March 3rd and hope weather is okay.

Yes, they just called me yesterday evening - so 9 days before sailing.
I hope they find another vendor before you sail.

Oops - I also wanted to mention to you - they do call you but you may also
want to check your excursions on line as mine was automatically deleted. I verified right after I received the call. I get back March 10th, I'll give you an update if I know more.

You may want to try parasailing at Coki Beach/Coral World in St. Thomas. MY DH & DS did it in 2005 and had a great time, they saw giant sea turtles from above, way cool. While they were up, DD and I spent time on the beach.

DH was suppose to parasail at CC on our November cruise. However, due to high winds they had to cancel. He was really looking forward to it. I want to get him up on our next cruise. We are planning to visit Coral World and Coki Beach in St. Thomas when we cruise in November. Thanks for the heads up on parasailing there. I may surprise DH and book him to parasail there.

Sorry, I meant next December. We changed our cruise for the second and final time last month. I hope you get to parasail next time too. That was going to be DHs first time to parasail last November. So, you can imagine how disappointed he was when they cancelled. There's always next time!

We went parasailing in September and had a good time. The captain did not say much, but the first mate was very talkative and told us a lot of information about the Bahamas. They were a private contractor from Abaco. Could it be that DCL and the contractor are negotiating a new contract?

I have read a lot more compliments on this excursion than complaints about this tour. One thing I noticed is that the crew mentioned tips, but since we were at CC, everyone in our party left cash on the ship. Perhaps, the contractors want more money due to this loss of revenue.
