I just discovered this board yesterday evening and have decided that today I shall spend my day in bed resting (as I have the flu) and reading lots and lots of posts. I have been dreaming of a Disney wedding but until I discovered so many others just like me it sort of didn't seem real. I look forward to sharing ideas with you and using this valuable board as a wedding planning tool.
My hubby-to-be, James, will be finishing law school next spring and we have a wedding date set for March 15, 2008 (slightly flexible on that). We have spoken to DFTW on the phone and are just getting started with the planning process. We are going for the custom at the WP (do I have a chance?) or Epcot Germany. I was thinking of a reception at the Boardwalk Resort and a dessert party to view the fireworks. My rough guest list count is surprisingly as high as 30 right now despite the fact that we all live in the northeast. I have so many others to invite so the count could get up to 50 or so (I was hopping for 20 . . . guess everybody loves Disney).
My first trip to Disney World was nearly ten years ago just after I graduated High School. We stayed off-site for an "Orlando" vacation but Disney was definately the highlight. In 2004 my sister and I (not being typical spring breakers) opted for a weeklong Disney vacation. It was the BEST! We took hundreds of photos (all 35 mm film, too hehehe) and got nearly 40 character autographs. We enjoyed the Magic Kingdom so much that it wasn't really a Disney World vacation so much as it was a Magic Kingdom vacation. I saw a wedding taking place the day we left Disney and the idea stuck into my mind ever since. I met James 5 months later and here I am . . . ready to be married in Disney World. They really do make wishes happen.
(I don't usually talk this much . . . must be the meds).
GLAD TO MEET YOU ALL!
Jenny
