Has anyone done this?? Care to share your experience? I've found my dress on a few websites at a much more affordable price than the bridal salon and I'd just like to know if anyone has had any luck...

Thanks!!

I had a similar situation with my daughters formal gown for a spanish "sweet 15"(very formal)

I found a website with a great price....everything was fine except one thing.....I specifically asked how the sizes run & I got the size off the ladies recommendation.....WELL its was huge on her..she was 5, dress was a 6-7(shes tall) & it looked like a 14!!!

They had no problem exchanging it, but they charged my another $15 to reship the dress. I tried to tell them I went off what they told me, but they wouldn't budge.

Other than that it was fine...so my only advice is check, check & double check on policy, sizes , etc....& document everything!!

Curious....would you be willing to pass along your dress site??

I purchased my gown online! I went to a place that makes the gown to your measurments! It's beautiful and fits wonderfully! I LOVE it!!! We're getting the BM gowns this way from a place online called Kanacca.com they also have an ebay store. Good luck with the gown hunting! If you would like to see pics of the gowns, check out my planning journal.;)

I've considered a couple different dresses, and each time I search for a discount store online, I keep coming across this one. The owner of this website also lists on ebay, yahoo shopping, and a couple other sites with excellent feedback...so far I feel pretty comfortable with it.

I plan on going to the bridal salon to try the dress on at some point, I want to make sure that I even like the way it looks, and I can get the sizing from them when I go, but I'm always a little leary of buying things that are "designer" from someone over the internet!

Have you received them yet? I'm curious of the quality. I found a few dresses that I liked, and the prices ARE amazing.....I'll keep an eye out for when you receive them, I'd love to know how they turned out!!

I bought my dress online after much deliberation (and unsuccessful visits to a number of stores) and couldn't have been happier. I followed their measurement scale and I didn't have to get ANY alterations. I figured worst case scenario, I was out $30 for a restocking fee. Really worth the hundreds I saved.

Here's my dress:

Just a beware for anyone buying made to order dresses off of Ebay. I bought and paid for one off of Ebay from a seller with a high number and 100% positive feedback. After winning the auction I got an e-mail stating it would be an additional $120 to make the dress at which time I asked for a refund. I notified Ebay but they said there was nothing they could do. The good news is I did get my money back. Just be careful for those that go directly through Ebay, I have heard of some girls having great success with Ebay though! Although I wouldn't buy through Ebay again, I probably will go through an online store. You can find such great deals on the internet!

I've actually considered this website before, but the dress style that I love is only available in ivory and white, and of course I have to be difficult and want a burgundy dress.... :rotfl:

Thanks everyone for their experience...I guess I'm just gonna have to hope for a little pixie dust and order my dress....I have a couple months until I plan to order it, but I'll let everyone know how it went....
