Anyone familiar with the Pasadena area?

How is the Travelodge on Colorado Blvd? (2131 Colorado to be exact)

Not really concerened with the status of the hotel, a clean bed is all I need. But is the neighborhood safe? Any decent places to eat within walking distance or a short drive? How long would it take for me to get to Disneyland from this area? How about Magic Mtn?

Thanks for any advice!

Mike

You should look up reviews on tripadvisor. I am not sure how far down the travelodge is so I can't help you. We have stayed at the courtyard by marriott and sheraton pasadena. Our only problem with the courtyard is that we were overlooking a gas station. The rooms were small at the sheraton, but we preferred the location. It was quiet and across the street from a nice mall - paseo colorado. Plus, if you walked through that mall to Colorado, it was very close to Old Town. I got a free night there, but I think the rates weren't too bad.

Hi, Mike.
That neighborhood shouldn't be bad at all. Old Town is just a couple miles west on Colorado and it does get hopping at times. Many places to grab food from fast food to great dining. Barney's is always a favorite of ours as I just enjoy going down the beer list!

Getting to D'land is quite easy from East Pasadena as you just hop on the 210 East and head south on the 57. We used to live just east of Pasadena (Glendora) and we could be at the park in about 25 minutes on a light traffic day. Magic Mountain is west on the 210 and north on the 5, probably 30 minutes from town (as long as those people heading to the lake for water activities stay out of your way!!!) Our theory was (probably still is) the freeway is called 210 for a reason; that's the required speed to travel it!
