Changing dining rotation on board

We have late seating for our April cruise. I really want 8:00 seating and plan on making the request to switch on board if we do not get the rotation that starts at 8:00. (I believe it's the TAAP on the 4 night) My reservation is linked with family in another cabin.

My question is, do I need to take everyone's KTTW card with me when I make the request to change dining rotation? Do I need to have someone from the other cabin with me? As the rotation is imprinted on the KTTW card, will they issue new KTTW cards?

TIA

They did not issue new KTTW cards when we changed our dining rotation. So no, you should not need to have everyones cards with you.

We switched two cabins, but DH and I were both there (he was lead in one cabin, I was lead in the other)
It might not be a bad idea to have one person from each cabin there, but I don't know if it's really necessary.

Thanks Cats Mom.
I think I remember from our first cruise that there were tickets (or slips of paper) with out table number on them for the first night. Did you get new tickets?

Nope, no new tickets either. They said to check in with a head server when we went to dinner that first night and let them know we switched rotations so they could look up our table assignment.

After that we just had to keep track of where we were supposed to be each night. No glancing down at the dinner tickets or KTTW card to check - of course I tend to loose track of the days when cruisin' anyway... so even when I have my rotation right in front of me oftentimes I have no idea which day we're on anyway.
;)

We had no problem at all switching to what we wanted. I hope it goes smoothly for you as well.

Did you put in the 8:00 request when you made your cruise ressie? If not call either DCL or your TA to have them add your request.

Does requesting a rotation on the reservation really help to get one? Just wondering

I had requested the dining rotation I wanted on my reservation - and I know my TA gave the info to DCL because she called me first to ask what in the world APL rotation meant. :rotfl:

So no, it didn't work to request in advance for us.

When you put in a request thru DCL it is just that a request. They will try their best to accomodate you but they make no promises that they can't fulfill. It doesn't hurt to add it to your ressie in the first place.
In the past I was able to request a specific table number and I was given that table.
