I do not have a car, I dont know if disneyland is like disneyworld, as they have a transit system to themselves, which serves, all parks, downtown disney, and disney hotels. So my question is, how would I get to downtown disney if I had no car. TIA

No, it is right there. Literally if you walk out the gates and to the right (or left if coming from DCA), you are in it!!! No car needed!!! It's on the way to the DLH.

It is VERY close. When you exit DL or DCA there is a big walkway between the two. On the west side you exit through security and there is DTD.

Since you know WDW, it is not much further than exiting the MK and going to the Monorail station.

Thank you both so much. Since, I am leaning more on taking a tour to the parks from hollywood. On the tours, they give you one ticket per day per park. No hopping. So, I will be taking 2 tours consecutive days to see both parks. I heard The disney adventure park is not an all day park. So, it is great to know. I can spend the rest of my day touring downtown disney. Thanks so much again!!

Now what should I do at downtown disney?

DCA is as much of an all day park as is MGM or AK at WDW, which means there is plenty there to keep you busy for a whole day. I would keep DTD as a backup plan in case you feel you have had gotten your fill of DCA.

Here are things a WDW vet might find most interesting at DCA:

1. California Screamin (if you are into roller coasters)
2. Grizzly River Run (if you do not mind getting wet)
3. Soarin Over California (ride is identical to Epcot's, but the location at DCA's Condor Flats draws you in much more that at Epcot)
4. Disney Animation Studios
5. Monster's Inc
6. Maliboomer
7. Sun Wheel
8. Golden Dreams
9. Aladdin Show (better than any show at WDW in my opinion - does not show every day though)
10. Block Party Bash (if showing when you are there)
11. Disney Electrical Parade (if showing when you are there)

Have to agree, we could easily spend a whole day at DCA. Shoot we can spend a few hours alone in Animation Studios! I also think even if you have no kids that you should wander through Bug's Land for a quick peek since they don't have it at WDW. You might as well see all the is different and atleast you can say you've seen it then even if you don't ride the kiddie rides!
Then you can walk through the bread and tortilla tours too!

A couple of other DCA little nuggets:

If with kids 3-10:
Redwood Creek Trail
Flik's Flyer
Heimlich's Choo Choo Train
Jellyfish Jumper

For all:
Muppet's 3D
Turtle Talk w/ Crush

I'll also second Aladdin as a top notch show and both parades as don't miss if they're running.

A note of caution on the Sun Wheel. Unless you've got a strong stomach don't ride the "swinging cars". They are the equal to a 20 minute ride on space mountain.
