Selling OKW Points to Disney

I have been told that at sold out disney resorts it is possible to sell your points directly to Disney. Has anyone tried this?

The information I have is you call the 800 number and go to the administration option (2) and leave a message and you will receive a letter.
It has been a week and I am still waiting.

Just looking for more information.

There have been reports of Disney offering people $50-$55 per point to buy back contracts. You will do much better by selling them through a resale broker. OKW points go for about $78/point on the resale market. The Timeshare Store (this board's sponsor) charges a 10% commission so you would end up with $70/point by selling through them. If you are selling a small contract (50 points or so) the sales price will be even higher than $78/pt.

Take a look at TTS's resale listings to see the "going rate" for OKW points: http://www.dvc-resales.com/dvclisting.cfm

I am looking for information about what price Disney has given in the past since they have the first right of refusal when selling. I know about the timeshare store from purchasing from them in the past. I was not particularly pleased with their contract for selling since it says they are due money when an offer is posted, not when the sale is complete (Florida has the 3 day waiting period). And I suspect since Disney has the first right of refusal that if Disney ercises that right you still owe the timeshare store the 10% fee.
So looking at all options.

If Disney exercises ROFR, the seller will get the same amount already offered by the buyer. Yes, any commission would still be due to a broker, but the seller will end up with the same amount regardless if the "buyer" or Disney ends up with the purchase. If you try to sell to Disney directly, they have been offering $55-56 - but that has no affect on resale offers and ROFR. (If a seller accepts a resale offer of $75, Disney would likely purchase the resale using ROFR.)

As LisaS already mentioned, OKW contracts have recently been clearing ROFR around $78 per point.
