Does anyone know when the DVC villas at AKL are expected to be completed?

We are, I think, ready to purchase and intended to take advantage of the F&F promotion. I haven't been on here in quite a while, and now I read that AK is coming up. I think that is a location that would appeal to our family more than SSR, but unsure if it makes better financial sense to wait for that and buy at an unknown cost, or just do the F&F at SSR right now and use points for a trip this fall. We generally go to WDW once or twice a year, more if we can swing it. It's wasting money to not have done this sooner, so part of me hates to put this off yet again, but I don't know because of location...

Any and all input is welcome! TIA!

well you could just get the 150 points with DVC - then wait and add on with AKV.

or you could go resale. (don't have to buy as many points - resale) - Disney doesn't care where you brought - a member is a member.

We bought at SSR last year under the same promotion. So far I've been able to book other resorts, some with just a few weeks notice.
I'm in the camp of buy where you don't mind staying.
For me personally, I'd rather save the money and buy in now and than later try to book at AKV or like spicey said, do a small add-on.

PM me if you need a guides name or referral.

Heck no one really knows when they are actually going to start building!

Not sure what to tell you. Good luck!

I say buy now. VAKL will be a large resort, so I don't believe you'll have much trouble at the 7 month mark. You will get more value out of your membership by using it for your upcoming trip and paying less per point. As stated by a poster above, you can always do an add on later. Having several smaller contracts is also good if you need to sell. Good Luck with your decision!:woohoo:

They say VAK will be ready for booking, in the existing hotel, this fall. Do we know yet when we can start booking that, etc?

wow....it's almost 7 months from fall...
i hope we hear something soon

Same as BCV and VWL and BWV (except standard.) I would think.

FWIW, I think the point charts will be higher than that. If it is true that the rooms will have higher occupancy limits than the existing resorts, it makes sense to me that the cost will also be more. Hope I'm worong and you are right, though, LOL.

I would hope that standard views won't be much more, perhaps a point or two each night. But Savannah views are going to have to cost for sure! Except Boardwalk, none of the others really have a view do they? Besides woods, courtyards....which aren't that great compared to a Savannah view!

We just purchased DVC at SSR.. We decided it is a much better deal now than it will be if we wait for Animal Kingdom to open up.. They have already pushed the date back so who knows when they are going to open up. Plus right now you can save $15 a point if you are referred.:woohoo:

If this is the case I will agree with you.
