I have 150 pts at bcv that I can't use

I'm new at this so I hope it makes sense.

We recently purchased at the bcv 150 pts. The contract is February and came with 150 pts banked from 2006. We won't be traveling to disney until probably September 2008. The contract has all the 2007 pts available.

Now it is my understanding that the banked points will become available this Feb. and must be used within the year or we lose them.

With this being said and if it's correct, how do I go about renting or transfering points, and what is involved by me? Is it best to have a date or should it be left open?

You could go to the rent/trade boards and start at reading the " Sticky's " at the top of the page. Other than that , I haven't rented or transfered yet myself .

Your banked 06 points can be used NOW to make ressies for the Sept vacation and also your 07 UY points !!

UY is only important for banking/borrowing. Yes you "get" 07 pts in Feb..but..can make ressies 11/7 mos. out from your vacation with no problem using both yrs..

If you aren't going to Disney until Sept 08, have you thought about using the points for something else? Like a trade out? Somewhere close to your home? Maybe DL???

Disneyland is always an option, as are the other properties offered through Disney. The only problem is that it doesn't seem like much of a deal to use the points for these locations.

I would try to use the banked '06 points for an II exchange. YOu may need to add 10 points to it, but if you do that, and then bank 140 of the '07 points into '08 when they become available, you will still have 290 points at your disposal for the Sept' 08 ressie.

I agree with you that using the points at Disney collection locations and Concierge collection isn't a good value, but II exchanges can be a great value as long as you aren't too specific about where and when you want to travel. 160 points for a week somewhere would be great, in my book!
