My DH and I went to Las Vegas about 2 years ago and stayed at the Riviera Hotel. Since we have stayed there before, the hotel has redone some refurbishing recently. So...they sent us a letter in the mail telling us we can come for a 3 night complimentary stay!!!  My DH and I have our 13th anniversary in April, but the fares are outrageous then because of spring break. The only other time we can go is probably second or 3rd week of June when the kids get out of school so we can leave them in Chicago with the grandparents(of course, it will be 100 degrees out there then). Airfares don't look to be much better for June(about $350-400 per person). Is it just too far out and fares may come down? Has anyone had any luck calling the Las Vegas Hotel dept. directly and asking them to help you with airfare and getting a good deal?? Any ideas would be appreciated!!!! My DH and I would love to have a trip alone for a change, and we don't want to spend tons of money since we are going to Disney in October with the kids.

It never hurts to call. DW and I stayed at the Riviera when we went a few years ago . It was in July and 4 straight days of record breaking heat.

Try SW if it's avail to you we had real cheap prices I think it was 3 nights ,RT direct flights, and Car (small ) for $550 total. This was through the SWV not the regular air web-sight even though they are linked

I didn't look where in Indiana your town is located, but I would suggest airtran.com or southwest. Both fly out of Midway. Airtran has a sale about every other week and I know you can fly to Vegas from there. Unfortunately they don't go from Mpls to Vegas, LOL.

We are just north of Indianapolis, so we would be flying out of Indy.

Congrats on getting the comp rooms wish it would happen to me.........lol
I wish we could go back. Just too expensive to get there from Ohio.

Well, all I know is.....Don't go NOW! I called my friend in Vegas yesterday and she said they were gearing up for a SNOW storm! In VEGAS!

Unbelievable!

Anyway, we aren't into Vegas at all, but we used to go once a year when DH's family would fly in from OH and we lived in CA. We would drive over.

I would try to go when the rest of the world isn't there. It just isn't much fun when it is so crowded that you have to wait hours per day to eat, etc....

Last time I went to Vegas I landed in a snow storm and it looks like it could happen again this time! Only 5 days to go :cool1:

Anyway, back to the OP. I would look around for package deals. Keep an eye on airfares. Do regular searches on sidestep.com to see what you can get. I ended up using frequent flier miles this time but we could have gotten a RT flight for $150 each thru either SW or US Airways.

As for hotel deals, call you casino host and see what days your deal is available. If you can't get deals to match your dates, then you can always look for other sort of deals (not necessarily free but can be close to it!)

Our trip to Vegas this week is costing us less than $200. We have free airfare (my frequent flier miles), 2 nights at Vegas Club (Downtown) $100, parking at the airport $10, rental car $45. We have a modest budget for gambling and food (we usually eat cheap except I have to have my Paris buffet which is a whopping $13.99 a person ;) ) I hope to come back with some money for another Disney trip I am trying to plan for Sept. but if I don't then oh well just more Ebaying or mystery shopping I will have to do!

I hope you and your DH can find a way to go. It is a really nice way to get away with your significant other without the kids!

We tried Allegiant Air last time we went...they only fly out of small airports (South Bend I think is one). They were GREAT....would definantly fly them again!
