Has anyone had dreams granted or special YOAMD surprises without kids along? DH and I will be celebrating our 32nd anniversary in WDW in March and I wondered if any special YOAMD happenings are even possible if there are not little ones along. I can be just as excited as a five year old when special surprises occur!

DW and I went on a no kids trip last month for our 11th anniversary. We were awarded dream fastpasses on our MGM day. We were both really excited when the dream team CM entered our Star Tours simulator and handed out the dream fastpasses to everyone in the simulator.

I'm pretty sure that the awards are made on a location/time basis irrespective of who is at the location at the specific time.

My goodness, sometimes I think a vacation to WDW without the kids would be a dream! Just kidding of course (in case my kids are reading this!).

I have wondered about this too. We will be two "old folks" by ourselves in May, so hoping we get SOMETHING! I'd take a night in the castle!;)

DH and I were in WDW celebrating our 10th anniversary and got dream fast passes at MK on our last day there, it was a great way to finish our vacation!

We did not get too much hassle from the kids because we put the July family trip on the calendar BEFORE we told them where we were going on our anniversary trip. :rotfl2:

do you have to tell them that it's your anniversary? We are going for our 5 year anniversary in July. Just curious what you have to do to even thought of for this.

I think you have more chances without your children!

My inlaws went to Epcot on our first day and were both presented with ears, the next day my inlaws had the kids while we went to MGM and we were awarded fastpasses! :cool1:

We were there for 10 days just after Thanksgiving and we did not receive anything. :sad2:

DP and I were there by ourselves and we received the YOMD special edition pin. However, we received this from a CM, not a member from the "Dream Team"...

The absolute only thing you won't have a chance for as much as everyone else is the attraction-specific dreams which sometimes involve children only. For example, at ToT they choose a junior bellhop. For the main sweepstakes, though, such as the Mickey ears, dream FastPasses, dream lanyards, VIP fireworks, etc. ... you have such as much chance as the family with 4 kids all dressed in I LOVE DISNEY shirts and princess dresses.

The fact it was their anniversary had no bearing on them receiving the prize. It was simply right-place-right-time.

We were two couples on a kidless trip last Nov and received the special mouse ears while they were taping ride clips for the X-mas parade on Soarin. We ended up in the front center row. I didn't see the whole televised program so I don't know if we were on it or not. The dream team CM was talking about the YOMD while they were taping and talking to DH and shaking his hand.

If you are celebrating an anniversary, I did see many, many people walking around with Happy Anniversary buttons, as well as "1st Disney Trip" buttons or something of that sort. I don't know where they came from but thought it was nice to acknowledge something other than birthdays.

Yeah, we read about the anniversary pins on the another thread.. there are first visit pins too? that's cool.. wonder if we can get one of each! I heard that you can get them at the guest relations or whatever.. in any park.

We just got back Thurs. night. On Wed. a 60ish couple walking RIGHT beside our family of five (the couple was literally inches from me) was asked to participate in the parade.

I am so happy to read these postings, because my DH and I will be staying at WDW in December, celebrating our anniversary :bride: :groom: . We're hoping we get some special "dreams" as well, though we'll be happy to just get to spend a special time of year in our favorite place.

Glad to hear this...a friend and i are going in may and was afraid we wouldnt have a chance to win anything since we arent with a family!

Don't know if these were actually "dreams" or just us being lucky. DH and I just returned from a stay at the Contemporary. It was just us two middle-agers, because the kids are now adults themselves. We hadn't taken a vacation for quite some time and so as a special treat I had booked a tower room with a bay lake view. When we got to our room, here we had been given a Magic Kingdom view! Needless to say, it was fantastic, and greatly appreciated. I had also made a dinner reservation at the California Grill. We were given a table at the window without even asking! Just must have been our lucky day. :cheer2:
