Rainforest or Donald's for Breakfast??

One of my family's favorite things to do at AK is start the day with breakfast at Rainforest Cafe. But this year that will present a problem since they don't start serving breakfast until 8:30 and we want to ride EE. From all I have read it looks like we need to head straight to EE as soon as the gates open. I thought about Donald's Breakfastosaurus but we have never eaten there. Any opinions on which is best? Thanks!!

We will be going in late June and I have secured ADRs at 8:00 @ Donald's and 8:30 @ Rainforest...I will cancel the one that we decide not to use.

I actually prefer the Tusker House to both, but given the choice of the two would pick Donald's.

We did Donald's this summer and everyone loved it. We had an 8:00 ADR. We all want to go back. My kids really enjoyed the characters and the food was very good.

That's good to hear!! Were you finished by the time the park opened at 9:00? Did you have to stay inside the restaurant until 9:00 or did they have you wait somewhere else for opening?

We were done in time for the opening. That's another advantage of Donald's vs Rainforest-it's a buffet so you can go at your own pace. No, you don't have to stay inside the restaurant. We went outside and were in the area around Dinoland when they dropped the ropes to open the area. This was our second day at AK so we were going to do the Dinoland area first. It worked out great.

I think you will enjoy it.

We also ate at Donald's for the first time this summer and we all enjoyed it. My kids have asked to go back when we visit in February. We also had an 8:00 ADR and had plenty of time to eat, visit with the characters and be outside and ready to head to EE with the crowds when they dropped the rope. Enjoy!

I'm glad to hear that we will have plenty of time with the characters and not feel rushed to head to EE. How long was the standby wait when you got there? Did you ride standby and get a fastpass too?

we've also done both and i have to say donalds was much better..the food was great!and you know when you have kids to sit and wait for food is torture so being able to just get up and go was great. our server was witty and funny and pulling tricks on everyone and the characters took their time w/the kids..

I say stick w/ ur adr's at 8; donalds is great and you will have enough time to get over to EE... Even though Rainforest is a tradition for you; you will not be dissappointed.

I got in line to get fastpasses. The lines for FPs were about 20-25 people deep at each machine. My husband and older kids got in the standby line. The standby line was VERY long - but I don't remember how long it said. My husband believes they waited in the standby line for about a half hour. The line moved fairly quickly. Our FP return time was about 1 hour later. The FP return line was a pretty long wait when we returned. One thing we experienced - our oldest son got in the single rider line; it took him close to an hour to get through and ride. I was starting to get nervous that it took so long. The ride was great though.

I had no idea RFC didn't start serving until 8:30! I was planning to have breakfast there one morning in August, but that might be enough to change my mind! We have been to Donald's 3 times. It is good, but I was looking for something different next time. Hmm. Maybe not!

We did Donalds on Dec 17 and it was great! We liked it the first time and had to go back and it was worth it. Donalds is now a staple for us!

I'm glad to hear so many good reviews of Donald's. Now I just need to convince the family that this is where we need to eat this time!! We can always eat at Rainforest when EE gets old...ha!!

I am a little on the fence. The character interaction at DR is awesome. But, I think I prefer the food at RC.

I am glad to hear good reviews of Donald's. We are going to try it our next trip. How is the set-up? This is in the same place at McDonald's, right? In Dinoland?

Love Donalds - for a character meal, this is definitely my family's favorite.

And, if you get the first seating, you will be deep in the park at opening and have a good chance of getting on Everest quickly. Highly recommend this choice.

We just tried Donalds for the first time last month and loved it. We had 8:30 reservations and were seated in 5 minutes. The food was awesome, 3 kinds of Krispie Kreme Donuts!

The characters were great and we were able to get over to EE in minutes.
