Feb. 2 - 6: BW view rooms 5015 and 5017. Terrific views of Illuminations and Wishes. 5015 (studio) has one of the awful balconies that is small, high, thick and solid, no railing -- worthless IMHO. Fortunately 5017 (1 bedroom) has a long, wide one, short with a small railing. It is also covered (nice if it rains). I called twice to have the bedskirt in 5015 replaced because the hem was totally ripped and it was easy to trip on it at night. Also called twice to have the sofabed fixed. DH and I together could barely operate it. The night maintenance person had trouble also. After 2 more calls it was fixed and worked great. It is annoying to me that mousekeeping does not report these issues. They certainly see them when making the bed and putting sheets on the sofabed.
Feb. 6 - 9: preferred view rooms 5072 and 5074. Fabulous view of pool, Swan and canal. 5072 (1 bedroom) has no balcony off bedroom and a small one off living room. The sink trap in 5072 was leaking badly so we had to have maintenance come, but it was fixed on the first call.

THE WHITE TENT IS GONE (though fence is still in place)! Workers told me there will be a croquet area where the old red office building was. You could see some stakes marking it out. Progress on the units seems very slow. They did not look much different than when we were there last month. Workers said that there will be a courtyard type area in front of the BW side villas. When I raised the issue of intruders, I was told the picket fence would be a deterrent (let's hope that those closing down Jellyrolls at night don't decide to take a shortcut over the fence).

I am bummed because we must now wait 8 months to go back. 4 visits in 5 months has spoiled us. :guilty:

Thanks for posting...I know it is going to be a long wait!!!!

I will pm you as soon as I get a chance...I have started TWICE tonight, and I keep getting interrupted!!!

Hi! We just got home from a wonderful 2 week WDW Christmas vacation! We stayed at BWV in a 2-bedroom Boardwalk view villa - rooms 5015 & 5017. The view is amazing from 5017 - we loved the large balcony and watched both Illuminations and MVMCP fireworks from it! My question is: jekjones1558 or anyone else who has stayed in this villa - did you notice how loud the rooftop air conditioners were right above the rooms? On our first night, I think one of the air conditioner compressors went out and it sounded like a helicopter was landing on the roof above us!!! Needless to say, we were NOT amused! We made several calls down to the front desk, and at 12:30 am, my DH went down personally to complain. There were several other people down there complaining as well. The loud noise stopped around 1:30 am - I'm assuming that they shut that unit down. The next night, it wasn't as loud, but we could still hear the humming of the air conditioners. I don't know if we were just more aware of the noise because of the first night, or if we would have noticed it anyway. We did get used to it by the third night, but it's just a shame that there is a noise level issue in such a great room! We could have tried to move, (doubtful since it was Christmas week!) but we didn't want to give up the awesome view.

Happy New Year!

Good thing I posted the room numbers here in 2005 or I wouldn't have remembered. I should keep a diary.
I don't remember any problem with noise from the air conditioners, and I'm sure DH would have commented if it had been an issue. He is anal about maintenance (has been known to carry a spare outlet when we travel anywhere in case the bathroom outlet is worn and the plugs won't stay in!:rotfl: ) Maybe the a.c. units are in need of replacement or cleaning soon??
Sorry the noise was a problem for you. The view is pretty hard to beat though, isn't it!!:thumbsup2

Nice report! :)

We had rooms 5015/5017 last May and will certainly agree the view is outstanding! Hope to get the same room sometime in the future- :)

mlill- We didnt notice any problems with the noise from the AC's-:confused3 but then again I had my 6 yr. old ds who is noisy enought himself! :rotfl:
