Which Character Breakfast is best? We are going in July with 2 boys and 2 girls in our group. The entire group of 8 is wanting to schedule a character breakfast and I know that all of you here on the boards will have wonderful advice and suggestions to offer!:thumbsup2

Crystal Palace is great! If you do the first seating on a non EMH day you get the castle to take pictures of pretty much to yourself so the girls would probably love that since there will not be tons of people around. We also like Restaurantsouras at AK but I don't think they have their system down. There is this long line in the morning for all the people who had ADR's then you have to put your name in and wait 15 minutes just to get in the place. I also think that this breakfast gets overly crowded and the interaction here with characters is real quick autograph and picture! At the Crystal Palace they spent a little more time with the kids!

You will get a better response is you post your questions about restaurants on the restaurants board. This board is about the resorts. Good luck.:)

IMO: there are so many great charachter breakfasts to choose from but two of our favorites were Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park; neither one of them are in the parks but they are so easy to get to from the monorail. Besides the fun for the kids the menu on both buffets for adults are great. I dont think you will be dissappointed with either choice.

Good Luck and I hope your trip is a blast! :) :wizard:

We had to go to Donald's Breakfastosaurus because Donald is my son's favorite. We all really enjoyed it and plan to go back again.

My favorites are Donald's Breakfastsaurus, Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's.
They all have excellent character interaction and their breakfast menus are yummy!:thumbsup2

We love Crystal Palace. The food and service is always great. The Characters are Winni the Pooh and friends. (No Mickey) It is the only place in WDW where you can find Piglet:thumbsup2 . We had pooor service and cold food at Chef Mickey's but our friends have always loved it there.

Best is very subjective.

Which characters do you want? Princesses, Classic or Pooh? Are specific characters important - Mickey, Minnie? Cinderella? Ariel? Stitch? Playhouse Disney characters?

Do you want Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner?

Do you want to dine in a park on a park day, or maybe create a non-park day with breakfast at one of the resorts, followed by a waterpark and/or Downtown Disney.

What is your touring plan like? Where are you staying? Breakfastosorus might not be worth the stop if you were going to skip AK this trip. Cape May is probably out of the way if you are staying at the Poly and don't plan on a morning at Epcot or MGM.

Do you have a big preference for buffet, family style or plated?

Answering these questions and giving them a priority will narrow your choices. There isn't a lot of choice for Pooh. Likewise, if you are looking for Ariel, your choices are slim. Minnie and Donald are only at a few meals, and Lilo and Stitch only at one. Breakfast is the most available choice, choices are slim at lunchtime. Not all the resorts have meals available, and while there are character meals again now in all the parks, they are limited in some parks.

We usually make a tradition of Ohanas (and have since it was Minnie's breakfast). Mickey is there (and what is a trip to WDW without Mickey), and Lilo and Stitch now. (Minnie hasn't been there is years, though once we had Minnie instead of Lilo - who apparently got grounded by Nani that day). We do an early breakfast and usually walk into the MK right at opening, so we aren't cutting into precious park time. And we prefer family style service to buffets - I do enough walking at WDW without getting my own food. It also has the advantage of being less popular, so I don't need to call six months out to get the time I want.

Playhouse Disney characters?

My son (19 months when we go) LOVES Little Einsteins. We will be going for his first trip and want to do at least 1 character meal - preferably breakfast. Where can we eat with the Playhouse Disney characters? Are reservations required/recommended?

I THINK (but check with someone else) that some PHD characters are at H&V in MGM for breakfast. I'm not sure which characters. But I would recommend reservations for all character meals.

You have to go to the Grand Floridian. We saw Mary Poppins, Alice in wonderland, the mad hatter, tigger& pooh. That was the only time we saw those characters. You can see Mickey and the gang at all of the others.

Which meals are family style and plated for breakfast? We'd love to do a Character breakfast on our last day, but would prefer not to have a buffet.

Crystal Palace by far.

1) Its a great way to start your day off at the MK

2) Its the only way to get a picture of Piglet

3) Its food has always been outstanding

4) they have these cheese potatoes that I still dream about...yummmm

HTH :)

Crystal Palace for breakfast, 1900 Park Fare for dinner. :)

Tigger and Pooh don't show up at the GF, I don't think. Mickey only shows up in a handful of places.

Here's a nice run-down by character :) ... http://allearsnet.com/din/cbchar.htm

I like Chef Mickey's. The place is wide open so you have good views of the characters when they are not at your table. Plus, there seem to be more characters. They also do a little napkin waving dance every once in awhile.

It depends on what characters you want to see. We absolutely love the Crystal Palace at MK, the food is good, and if you get an early (8:05, 8:10, etc) ADR, you should be done about the time the park opens. The characters are Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. If you want Mickey and the gang, then try Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.
