I have a few questions about staying at a Disney resorts.

I once heard that you can go to any of the resort swimming pools ?

Can you go from resort to resort and just walk around?

Can you Play at the other Playgrounds?

Can you do any of the other hotel activities? (example) pony rides at ft wildreness?)

You can eat at any resturant?

Thank you ~

Yes to all but the pools. You may only use your resorts pool unless the resort you are staying at has a sister resort. The All Star's are sister resorts and so is PO (Riverside & FQ).

You can pool-hop to some pools. I know pool hopping is never allowed at Stormalong bay at the Beach Club. The Disney resorts website will tell you exactly when and where pool hopping is allowed.

The only situations where pool hopping is allowed:

1. If you are staying at one of the All-Star resorts, you may use the pools at All-Star Sports, Movies and Music.

2. If you are staying at one of the Port Orleans resorts, you can use the pools at POFQ and POR.

3. If you're a DVC member staying on points, you can use the pools at any resort except for YC/BC and AKL.

Outside of those specific situations, you can only use the pool at your resort. Cast Members can and do check resort IDs at the pools, and you may be asked to leave if you can't produce the appropriate ID.

Allison, Maybe my info is outdated, if that's the case my apollogies. But I have, in the past, while staying at BCV, used Board Walk's pool and have gone to OKW's pool as well.
I just found my most recent issue of Vacaction Magic, Winter, 2006, the Disney Vacation Club magazine. It says pool hopping at WDW resorts isn't available at Uzima Pool at AKL, or Stormalong Bay a BC and due to high occupancy pool hopping won't be allowed at any resort hotel Nov 20- 26, and Dec 17th,2006-Jan 2nd, 2007. It seems to me that you can still pool hop at pools during less crowded times. Except for the 2 mentioned above. Complete details, it says, are available in Portable Perks at check-in.

This is for DVC members not regular guests which is pointed out in item 3 above.

Your information does not apply to a regular guest in any way.

I am sorry, i really should have had my coffee before I started writing. I must have read that twice and it still didn't sink in. I wasn't trying to mislead anyone intentionally. I WILL be more careful next time. I guess my mind is already there.

Allison, I don't know why you are up so early, but I know why I am. My wife is a neat freak, and a couple days ago she started her maniacle pre-vaction cleaning thing. The vacuum is smoking it's been going so much. Our sons have grown and left a couple years ago now, so I don't know who she is cleaning for! This process gets repeated upon our return.

My job is to step back and get OUT OF THE WAY! That's why I'm hiding up here in my little computer room.:surfweb:

3 Days and counting.

Oh man-you are going in 3 days. I'm so jealous. :yay: Enjoy those pools.;)

OP-I would recommend touring around the monorail resorts. They are beautiful and fun to explore. Your kids would enjoy riding the monorail also.:thumbsup2

I booked 11 months ago...can you imagine how the time has dragged? We are actually staying with my wife's sister and husband for the first three days in Daytona, so it will be Sunday the 7th before I get to my favorite place on earth again. It's been 2 years. We traded our points the last 2 for Aruba and Grand Cayman. Wife was happier about that than me. Color me 8 years old.:hourglass

I, and the BIL get along well and will play a couple rounds of golf, so it is not a bad delay.
