Room upgrade wishes

Has anyone out there receved a room upgrade at the resort hotels? I love hearing about people's dreams coming true! Share the magic please...

Wow. Talk about an upgrade? We are booked for ASMO. I would be totally shocked to be upgraded to the Polynesian. I was kind of hoping just to get prefered since we only booked standard this time.

I had a ressie for a Garden View at the Polynesian 11/3-11/8. When I arrived at 11 am to check in I was informed by the CM that I had been upgraded to a concierge room. It was a wonderful "dream come true".

Now upgraded to Concierge would be my dream! I have wanted to stay there but cannot justify the cost vs value! This post is from a person who was upgraded at WL.

When I check In Sunday at WL if I was upgraded to Concierge I think I would faint right there from pure utter shock. That would be so awlsome. But it is only a dream as I never win anything much and I'm not going to expect anything just to enjoy the happiest place on earth to my best .

I had never been to Disney untill 2004.My wife had been to Disney in the past and wanted to share with me what Disney has to offer.I just fell in love with Disney.Then we decided to take my two daughters down in June of 2005 so we could share the experence with them.It is priceless the memories we have of my two daughters at Disney.So in January of 2006 I took my wife to Wilderness Lodge for a week.A week at Wilderness Lodge was her Disney dream.When we got there our reservations were messed up.So Disney moved us to a room on the third floor over looking the castle at the Magic Kingdom.So nights we could go out on the balcony and watch the fireworks and listen to the music.She felt like a princess and it made our vacation that much more special for her.Now we are getting ready to go back the day after Thanksgiving for a week to see Disney at Christmas time.

DH & I stayed at Poly 11/4-11/8, we booked a standard garden view room and was upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite. That was a pretty awesome wish, I actually welled up with tears and told the CM I loved her!

MY DH found this thread and brought it to my attention. We moved from OKW to the BC last week for our last two nights. We were booked in a standard room - but were upgraded to the Concierge floor.

But we didn't know it until we got up on the floor. No one said anything about it being a "wishes" dream fulfillment, however....so I'm not sure.

I have to admit, when we first opened the door to the room we were a little dismayed because it didn't have the extra day bed we were expecting, but they brought us a cot. And I told my DH and my DD15 that we'd be crazy to move because it wasn't something we could afford to do on our own. So we decided to stay up there, shut up about the size of the room and enjoy the nice treat.

But I don't know if this was because the BC was full or if it was part of the "Year of A Million Dreams" campaign.

Actually, a friend of mine went about a month or so ago, got to AS resort to check in, was told they'd been upgraded, and were driven to the Poly where they stayed for the same price and were greated by Lilo and Stitch.

YES! That was my friend. And it was the first trip for both of their kids...they were so excited and had a fabulous time!

A friend who reads here so she might chime in - just let me know that last week her pastor and his family went to OKW on friend's points and then were spending the last two nights at POR -- when they got to POR they were told they had been upgraded to GF! It was late at night and they were tired - suspected it was an overbooking issue but new it was a good deal and so they went with it!

We just got back from WDW - met a couple from Nova Scotia at Illuminations, celebrating their 15th anniversary. When they checked in at the Poly, they found out they had been upgraded to concierge!
My DH and I stayed at POR - 15th Anniversary for us, too - I don't think we were upgraded, but it was really nice, all the same!

I just got back from my honeymoon at the end of November.
I booked a standard wing room, when I checked in I received a Tower room, Bay Lake view!!
The room was AMAZING!

I got a free upgrade to preferred at ASMo the beginning of November. It was a first floor room in Toy Story-Buzz Lightyear side, and only a couple minutes walk from the buses! I was spoiled after that--usually we get the cheapest standard rooms WAAAY in the back! If I got an upgrade to Poly I wouldn't know what to do!

DD and I were upgraded to concierge at the Poly - it was only for one night - we were there for MNSSHP on 10/12, it was such a great surprise and made our one night get away feel extra special.
