Not sure if that's the right description-where are the zippiest, meaning fastest and most responsive, water mouses (or is it water mice?) DH hasn't rented them in a long time, but when he did, some were OK, but some were real "duds". He wants to rent them next time we go, but where would you recommend?

I have no basis for comparison, but the only time I rode in a water mouse it was rented from the Wilderness Lodge. It took me 30 minutes to get brave enough to really open it up. My husband and 2 other friends were flying all over the place- one was air borne after crossing a wake! We went from WL to FW then by MK,GF and Polynesian. Quite fast enough for me!:earsgirl:

We were there a month ago and it looked like they have some new styles out there now that have just a little more zip in them. I bet they have a governor on them so people can't get themselves in too much trouble on the lakes.....

I rented them at Poly and a dude with a Water Sprite from GF went by me pretty good. I was mad.

I rented a Sprite at Downtown Disney also... they barely move... don't go here.

We rented them from the GF 2 years ago and they were pretty fast for me......however, my FIL is 6'5 and over 200lbs and he was just putting along. I guess the bigger weight wise the slower you go.

My dh and ds say, the GF, hands down. They said they were way better than the ones at the YC.

We rented them at Ft. Wilderness and got two zippies and a slow one. Luckily for me I got a fast one, as did my twelve year old son, but my poor husband was left in our wake. I really think it's the luck of the draw on this!

If you want zippy, Sammy Duvall's at the CR now rents Wet Bikes (jet skis) 3 seaters I believe. $100 per hour. Not sure if they have the engines governed or not, there were none on the water when I was there. Have two at home and just couldn't see spending an extra $100. I will though in November :)

Pluto4president,
Do you know what the age requirement for the jet skis is?

Don't rent them over at the YC/BC either. The whole thing is a no wake zone and those ones CRAWL! We tried to rent at the GF last time (2 years ago) and they didn't have any there so we went to the Poly where we have always rented them before and got 2 pretty zippy ones. The year before I got a fast one and my DH got a slow one. He went back and changed it out for another. Of course that took up some of his time so he wasn't too happy~ he made me go again for another hour at the end of the week! Not that I was complaing, they are a blast! BTW he is 6'4 and was 240lbs last time we went and he was getting some serious air jumping those wakes!

Wilderness Lodge mice were very fast. Even fast enough for my son to create a wake which washed over into my boat drenching me!!

The resorts on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon have the fastest Water Mice. I once got a slow one at WL, but went back to the dock and explained the problem. They gave me another one and took the first one out of service. And the CM started my time over.

My family loves the water mice @ WL....they have plenty of speed and they had a great time racing them all over the lakes there...lots of room to "play"....

Any of the Resorts on the seven seas lagoon really.....they let you go much faster because of the giant lake :bounce:

yes the zippest are in the seven sea lagoon?bay lake area.

it was explained to me that this is simply because the area for the bodies of water is so much larger that the lake at the boardwalk/mgmg area

I once rented then there and they were just awful, but at seven sea/bay lake you can really motor

How many people fit in the water mice? 1 or 2 adults? My DBF is 6'3" 250lb. Should he get his own?:)

...have rented them at CSR, YC, DTD, and WL, and it seems to us that the WL ones were the fastest and DTD ones were the S L O W E S T...I think that it probabley had something to do with the size of the lakes (more "breathing room";) )

Curly Q~ Defintely have DBF get his own. The weight limit is either 300 or 350lbs, but they are kind of narrow. The one time my DH and I tried to share one (he is 6'4 and 240) we were squished like sardines, espescially because of the giant blue lifevests (the foam kinds) that took up any breathing room. We always get seperate boats now. The extra weight really slows them down too!

OK 7 seas lagoon seems to be the winner but which resorts are located there?
