Hey everyone. For those who have given the pesky critters to their kids already, what were the must-have pieces - the ones that the kiddos REALLY liked? I don't want to waste any money.

Thanks very much!

Hmm... I haven't given the girls theirs yet, since they are for Christmas, but I got them each a hampster and the blanket.

I might possibly give them a giftcard to purchase the other pieces later, but I am not positive. They are hard to find and I figure after Christmas they will be around more.

Plus, the kids get so much around Christmas, that it might prolong the fascination with the Zhu Zhus if we offer more pieces throughout the year.

Of course my girls are 7, 5, & 4, so that might not work for older girls.

Mine are saved for Christmas too....athough DH has threatened to dig them out to ebay them!

I just got 1 hamster, 1 bed or carrier and 1 ball....I figure the ball would be the most entertaining, like a real hamster, and take up the least amount of space.

It will be interesting to hear which pieces the kids preferred.

Have they asked for specific pieces? If so, I would just get those. Our daughter wanted the brown hamster and the car, so that's what she's getting.

I have a 3 pack of hamster and 2 of the fun houses... of course it is all packed away for Christmas. It was all I could find at the MRSP in the store - I wasn't paying a fortune for them. I figure the kids could play with the hamsters and connect the fun houses together for them to run in. If I happen upon any of the other pieces at the store, I will get them for the kids - if not, then I am sure they will be happy anyway!

My DD got her zhu zhu pets back in September for her Birthday. We gave her the funhouse, the wheel, a bed and one hamster.

I think that was a good mix. I'd say the funhouse with one add on option (wheel, spiral slide, etc), plus a hamster would be enough to really "play" with the hamster. A bed or a carrier would be a nice touch, but not required.

DD has asked for the ball (which she is getting) for Christmas. If I see the spiral slide anywhere, I will buy that too ... but I'm not specifically hunting (just stopping by toy aisles if I'm out shopping).

I got my DD a yellow hamster and the car. Anything else she wants, she can save up for. :thumbsup2 They appear to be a never ending money pit. ;)

Well, the reason I ask is because my Mother bought every last stinking piece when someone had just unloaded them from a truck. I do not wish to keep it all as it is just too much money, etc. I am trying to figure out how to narrow it down so that the rest can be returned. My sister said that the pieces all look "fun".... but really do they need it all? I am trying to be practical and not overspend.

P.S. - I am not fishing for buyers here, by the way. I am dead serious about not wanting all of it. I am looking for honest opinions. I am also not trying to irk those of you who have driven to umpteenth Targets or Walmarts looking. This was pure dumb luck that my Mother stumbled on them.

I have been thinking about this too... but seriously, lol.

Dh has been working 2 weeks off 2 weeks and it is killing us right now. I keep thinking that if I just sell them on ebay, I could get the kids each a really nice gift instead of the Zhu Zhus (they haven't even asked for them)
