We ate at loads of places, so here is the VERY BEST of the best:
Chef Mickey's (dinner)- 3/27 - Wonderful food: DH's prime rib was "the best," he said, DSister's food allergies handled well by the chef, DD loved Goofy's pizza and chicken, DNephew loved macncheese and Mickey Ravioli , I loved potatos and catfish, and DBIL loved everything! The character interaction was great for DN - 5, DD - 1, and all us big kids!
California Grill - 3/28 - Wonderful food and service! The Peeky Toe Crab Sushi is absolutely amazing...so amazing indeed that my DH a meat and potatos guy always requests that we get some! His filet was great and I got the veggie entry of the day...quite tasty! DD loved their pizza, but was ready to go, so no dessert for us and we left before WISHES began! The house MERLOT was fabulous!
CRT - 3/29 - DH proclaimed that the stuffed french toast was amazing, and scolded me for not telling him it was family style and he could have had as much as his tummy would hold! (This was his first CRT event, and he requested that it not be his last!) I got the healthy option and the granola and yogurt were fab. and the carmalized bananas were quite tasty! DD loved the homemade peach yogurt! The princesses were great and DD loved Hook and Peter Pan fighting on the balcony!
JIKO - 3/29 - DH stated that no filet was ever made that could equal the one he tasted this night! It became a running joke and still is that whatever he is eating, "is not, nor will it ever be JIKO!" He said even my mother, who is an accomplished chef could not make one this good! It was Australian Angus beef...I guess there is no substitute! We began with a wonderful array of a made up appetizer platter that Michele, our most outstanding female server, said she would be gald to make up for us! After this wonderful array of 4 apps. we then shared a salad. WARM OCTOPUS SALAD! It was amazing! I am a salad guru and this was the best ever! YUMMY! My veggie dish paled in comparison, but with the apps. and salad I was full! DD loved their pizza as well! Michele was truly wonderul! This will be a repeat every trip!
Chefs de France - 3/30 - Our wonderful friend joined us for the next few days, and she speaks fluid French, so we thought that a visit here would be fun for all! BTW, she had never in her 40 years been to WDW! DH got this wonderful cheese covered chicken dish, while my BF got Pumpkin soup, which she said was delightful and I got French Onion soup which was delicious and we both had salads! DD had chicken and fries and enjoyed! Our server was quite sweet and very fun! All in the restaurant seemed quite laid back and treated DD wonderfully!
Crystal Palace - 3/30 - This was absolutely wonderful for my BF, who is from South Africa and me a vegetarian! We thought everything was absolutely great! The best buffet experience we had ever experienced! DH thought there was much to be needed, but he doesn't care for vegetables! DD loved the pizza and chicken! There were wonderful curried mussels and curried fruit and vegetables! Pooh and all his friends weren't their usual totally wonderful selves, but all in all they were fine! No matter what my BF, DD and I loved this!
Garden Grill - 3/31 - Everything was delicious! The catfish, stuffing, fresh veggies and mashed potatos were great! DH and my BF loved the chicken anf flank steak, while DD loved the chicken tenders! We had a rehitching ceremony that was wonderful and so fun at the same time! Sam rehitched us and all around had a wonderful time. To celebrate with they gave us a certificate and cake with Mickey and sprinkles all over it! This is such a favorite place for us! The characters were so much fun too! It was ALL Great!
FLYING FISH - 3/31 - This was the BE ALL END ALL EVENING! We ate here before our BREATHLESS CRUISE, as a surprise to my DH celebrating his first season as a head coach and winning several awards too and DBIL's 40th bday! We had Michael the server, who was outstanding! Everything was wonderful and the chef came out to speak to my DS about her special food needs and it just got better from there! I got a BayBerry Breeze cocktail...the best of the entire trip! DH got merlot that was fab. We had the Peeky Toe Crab cakes here...great! Everyone's food was excellent and DH's chocolate souffle and DBIL's birthday surprise creme brulee was fabulous! We kept reminding them about our "special surprise" outing afterwards, and they got us out in the nick of time for the cruise! This was a first time deal, and will now become a regular dinner spot!
Cape May Cafe - 4/1 - (Breakfast) - We have never in over 30 trips done this buffet breakfast, but after this it is a new must do! Everything was wonderful for our late breakfast! DD loved theie hashbrowns! After EMH at MK, my BF and I were ready to chow down with my DH and DD! Evrything: food, service and characters were wonderful! This is a great place for a character buffet and a wonderful send off for my BF!
1900 Park Fare - 4/1 - (Dinner) - This was wonderful as well! THe character interaction was the best of the entire trip...how wonderful was that for our last evening at WDW! Suzy, the mouse, was exceptionally gracious and loving to my tiny DD! She held her and truly came by four times to interact with my DD and my DN! The food and service were top notch! THe chef here also led my DS through the buffet and made her feel so special! The three cheese lasagna was deemed a new buffet favorite of my DH's, ranking up there with CM's potatos! Everything here was great!
We only had one less than stellar meal, San Angel Inn, a regular for us, but now we have decided to replace it with new places our next trip!
Oh...one last thing! I had never in over 30 visits to WDW had one of CANADA's famed BEAVER TAILS, but this trip we: DH, BF and I tried one...OH MY GOSH! MAPLE AND CHOCOLATE RULES!THEY ARE WONDERFUL!! TRY ONE, PLEASE!
