You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

Great update, guys!! Looks like everyone had a fun time at the luau-- that's adorable that they have all the celebrating couples come out and dance! The picture of the two of you with the Little Guy is definitely frame-worthy! Everyone looks great in that shot!

Thanks! The Luau was so much fun.

We love that pic too!

Great update! The luau seems like it would be so much fun. Sounds like you all enjoyed it!

Thanks! It is a blast!

Wonderful night!

I've never done the Luau but now I really want to try it. Y'all really did have great seats.

Little Guy really did look like he was having such a good time.

You have to try the Luau!!

Wow guys!! What a great update!! The luau looks so fun!! I love looking at Little Guy being mesmerized by it all!! I will have to take Landon!! If he saw the fire guy now, I know he would continually point and say "hot!" haha. I'm trying to teach him to say fire...but I think he might just think it's called hot.

Kristen, you are so cute with Little Guy!! Is he a good tickler? I don't know what age they start actually learning how to effectively tickle. Right now Landon tries and just kind of moves his arms all crazy. So cute.

You guys got SO MANY good pictures!! I love it.

Thanks! I think Landon would love it just like Little Guy!

Little Guy is starting to get the hang of tickling. Sometimes he gets so excited and then starts pinching! haha

oh my gosh, what a fun update! All your pictures came out so good! I love the one of you, Tink and Little Guy! the luau looked so much fun. I definitely want to see it now!

Thanks! We love that pic too.

You have to go see the Luau!

Awesome update, ladies! I love all of the Luau pics. And the Little Guy's Hawaiian Shirt is so cute!

It's hard to believe, since I've stayed at the Polynesian almost every trip, that I've never been to the Luau. I really wanna go though. It looks like so much fun!

Thanks!

I can't believe you've never been to the Luau yet!

Fabulous update! It looks like you guys had a great time at the Luau! We went in 08 and it was a lot of fun! I know everyone in my family really enjoyed the food and the fire guy too ;)

Thanks! It was so much fun.

Looks like a fun time at the Luau!! :thumbsup2
I have never looked into it or the food but it looks fun for a large group of people! :goodvibes :rolleyes1 Fire guy......;)
Love all of Little Guy's faces!!! He is quite the ham ;)

Tracy

It was a great night!

Haha, he is quite the character!

Ok, my 2 favorite pictures are the one with you 2 ladies & the Little Guy and then the one of the 3 of you on the dance floor. Honorable mention for the picture of Chris with the flowers on his head. ;)

I have never had a desire to go to the Luau, but your pictures are making me reconsider... It's nice that there is a covered area to sit under.

Tink - how old is your Little Guy when you went on this trip? Dylan just turned 3 last week and I am trying to compare their ages for when we go on our next trip.

By the way, I just started my new PTR for our trip in November. Hope you both stop by!

What a fun time for all of you! There are so many cute pictures in that batch. I am so glad you got to all do that together. The grandma and grandpa dancing picture is too sweet.

They love dancing!

Awesome updates guys!

I now really wanna try the Lua someday...it looked amazing!

Thanks! You have to try it!

I LOVE how you did the update together like that, just switching font colors so we'd know who was writing. It looks like you all had a blast. It's great that Kristen and Chris fit in and felt comfortable with Tink's family so quickly. Loved that lil' guy was tickling Kristen! So sweet. And even sweeter, the pic of Tink, fiance, and lil' guy dancing. :lovestruc

Awesome update girls!! It's so great to see you all having so much fun together. The luau looks like so much fun!

I swear I say "AWWW" during your updates more than anyone else. Little Guy is just too adorable and you're so good with him. And also just you two girls being so close and having such a great time at Disney too is so nice to read about!

"Pretty Chris" - so funny!

Again...awwwwwwww, Tink, Fiance, and Little Guy dancing!!! That made my heart melt!

Oh and to Grandma - you go girl!! LOL!

Awesome update! So many good pictures, too! So cute that Little Guy warmed up so quickly and was trying to tickle Kristen :rotfl2: The picture of you two with him is great.

Yes, Chris is a goof!

LOL I remember Kristen laughing so hard at Grandma saying that. I just rolled my eyes and laughed.

Awesome update! So many good pictures, too! So cute that Little Guy warmed up so quickly and was trying to tickle Kristen :rotfl2: The picture of you two with him is great.

Thanks!

He loved Kristen and Chris. He (and I) send her pics and videos of him all the time.

I agree with Liesa, lots of eye candy during that Luau. :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Great pics. I think I went to a Luau many years ago with my parents during our first trip. Of course that area has changed since then. They covered the eating area and I am sure changed the stage a bit.

I may have to go back. :cutie:

You have to go back!!

July 20, 2010 *continued*

When we last left off the luau had just ended and it was about 7:15. We were mulling around, trying to decide where we wanted to go to next. I’m not sure who thought of it but at some point, we remembered that Epcot had PM EMH so we wanted to head over there. Tink’s grandparents were tired so they decided to go back to their room and relax for the night. Everyone else then started to walk back towards the Great Ceremonial House so we could use the bathroom and what not before we went to Epcot. The little guy was being HILARIOUS on the walk over to the GCH. I don’t remember exactly what he was saying but I do remember we were all laughing so hard at him. I hope Tink can remember what he was saying/doing!

-I can’t remember what he was saying either! But it was hilarious and we were all laughing. Maybe that’s when he started dancing and stuff like the fire guy?

It was amazing to be walking around with Tink, just chatting and not having a care in the world. Knowing we had over a week left together just made me so happy. Chris and her DF were already noticing a trend…we ditched them so we could walk together, leaving them to talk as well. They talked cars while we talked…everything and anything lol

-Kristen and I would always turn around and look back to see how far ahead of the guys we were. Sometimes they were off in their own world too, haha.

Anyway, everyone did what they had to do in the GHC and then we all walked to the TTC to catch the monorail over to Epcot.
We didn’t wait long for a monorail. The little guy was playing with his cars while we waited. He was being so good!

-He brought those cars everywhere we went! They were Lightning McQueen and some of the other cars from ‘Cars’.

When a monorail came, the little guy wanted to be a big guy and stand holding the rails like Chris was.

He and Chris were teasing with each other the whole way over. This was also something that would be a growing trend. They were ALWAYS messing around with one another.

-It was so funny! He quickly became friends with Chris too. I was so glad!

-As we got closer to Epcot and could see SE, we got Little Guy up by a window so he could see everything. He kept yelling “Apricot! Apricot!” because he remembered the Epcot part in the movie I showed him before the trip, except Epcot became “Apricot”. lol

Finally we were pulling into Epcot.

134.jpg

Chris and I had never done park hoppers on our tickets before so it was pretty cool for us to be at our second park of the day. We walked down the ramp all together to head in. Everyone was just talking and laughing together. I can’t even say how great Tink’s group was at making us feel like we were part of their family.

akdisney167.jpg

It was decided that we would head over to the Seas with Nemo and Friends to ride the clammobiles for the little guy. I think he was excited to ride the Nemo ride!

-The whole way there, he kept yelling “Nemo! Nemo!” lol And then he’d ask, “Are we to Nemo yet?!”

136.jpg

137.jpg

138.jpg

139.jpg

We walked right on the ride with no wait! Chris and I had ridden once before and it was still as adorable as the first time. I’m pretty sure the Little Guy loved it! Then we went to check out some of the aquariums in the Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion.

We also walked over to the floor to ceiling aquariums to check out the sharks and dolphins. Some of the fish in there are ENORMOUS! None of the pictures I was taking in there were coming out clearly, maybe Tink has some. I know that the Little Guy was having the best time in here! We spent a decent amount of time checking everything out.

-My pictures didn’t turn out clearly either. These are the only two that were good:

After we were finished in there, Tink’s parents decided they were going to go back to the CR and take the Little Guy with them. It was close to 9:00 at this point and he was getting tired! The rest of us then ventured over to check on the wait time for Soarin’. I didn’t have very high hopes as far as how long the wait time would be since we obviously didn’t have FPs or anything but we had nothing else planned to do so it was nice to just go with the flow.

145.jpg

I love that these represent the different seasons.

146.jpg

We got over to Soarin’ and the wait time said 65 minutes…like I said, we had nothing else to do so we just decided to wait! I’d never waited stand by for Soarin’ so I was excited to check out the interactive games in the queue. However, much to our surprise, we were “soarin’” (corny, sorry!) through the queue. I’d never seen the line so short! We walked reeeally far up before we met up with the end of the line for what was supposedly a 65 minute wait. Again, it was great to just hang out with Tink and her family and talk. I think now is when we really started to talk about some of the differences between Long Island and where they live, one of them being taxes haha For anyone who doesn’t know, LI’s taxes are some of the highest in the country and are driving people off the island to live some place cheaper. Let’s just say we’d much rather live where they are than on this stupid, overpriced island!

-Haha, I remember that conversation. It was fun talking about the differences between where we live and where they live.

After about 15 minutes we were to the front of the line!

We got placed in row

147.jpg

Row one! PERFECT! A short time later we were loading up for the ride.

*Continued from previous*

Of course, Soarin’ was amazing! And, it took us only 30 minutes to get through the whole line and ride.

-We really got lucky because the crowds were out watching Illuminations! By the time we got off and were walking out past the line, it was really backed up again!

At this point, Tink’s Uncle and Cuz were ready to head back to the resort but the four of us weren’t ready to part ways yet! We wanted to see if we would be as lucky with Test Track as we were with Soarin’. On the way there we walked through Mousegears and checked out some souvenirs. Mostly though it was to get out of the humidity outside.

150.jpg

151.jpg

152.jpg

I wanted to buy this shirt but wasn’t ready to make my first souvenir purchase yet.

153.jpg

-We had also checked to see if Club Cool was open still, but it wasn’t since it was EMH’s.

Unfortunately, TT had a really long line. I don’t remember what the exact wait time was but the line was still outside even at like 9:45 so we passed on it. We were going to leave but then Chris wanted to check the wait time for Mission:Space so we walked that way. Tink’s DF had never ridden before and the wait time for the orange side only said 10 minutes (I think) so they wanted to try it out. My stomach is not good with simulator rides (I’ll do the green side but definitely not the orange side) and Tink didn’t want to ride either so we grabbed a seat on a bench and waited for them. Not two minutes later they were walking back up to us…they forgot their room keys and needed it to get on the ride since it was EMH. It made me happy to know they were actually checking to let people on the ride!

154.jpg

Tink and I just sat and waited and talked. One thing I still remember about sitting there was the music that was playing. It was the regular, M:S area music and Tink told me she hated it. For the rest of the trip and to this day, I will always think of her when I hear that music!

-haha, I can still remember sitting on that bench hearing that music!

We were waiting and waiting for the boys and finally, they come up to us laughing their heads off. Apparently they’d been walking past us a few times for the past five minutes waiting for us to notice them but we were too wrapped up in our conversation to notice lol It was 10:15 at this point and we were all shot. Tink and her DF had been up since very early and Chris and I were up even earlier and traveled that morning. It was time for us to head back if we ever wanted to be awake for AK AM EMH the next morning! We headed back to the front of the park.

155.jpg

Chris and I headed over to our bus stop (which is FOREVER away from the exit at Epcot) and Tink and her DF got onto the monorail. The best feeling was knowing that we’d see them again in less than 12 hours! Chris and I just missed a bus as we were walking up but another one was only a few minutes behind. We were back to Pop just before 11. Our bellies were grumbling a little bit so we went into the food court and jumped on the line to get a chocolate shake and chocolate chip cookie before they closed. The shake was alright but kind of tasted like burnt plastic. Not sure why lol We were back in our room by 11:10 where we relaxed for a little bit before hitting the hay at 11:30. It was seriously the PERFECT first day at Disney and I couldn’t wait to wake up the next morning for our AK day and Tusker House breakfast reservation with Tink’s family!

-Fiance and I didn't have to wait too long for a monorail to the TTC. The whole way there, we were getting sleepy. It was a long day! Once we got to the TTC, we had to go down and around over to the Resort monorail. We didn't have to wait long for that either. As we made our way around the Seven Seas Lagoon, I just looked out the window at everything. I still couldn't believe we were ALL at WDW. This was only our first day with Chris and Kristen and we were already having a blast. We couldn't wait until morning!

~Up next: AK morning!

Looks like you all had a great night :goodvibes
I always try and make it as long as I can the first night/travel day but you gotta hit the wall sometime!!

Mouse Gears is the perfect walk through when it is hot!! :thumbsup2
Oy to the taxes in NY...the whole state is ridiculous....people are constantly moving (mostly south) and business' really struggle to stay alive. I like it here and this is where my family is but... There is a large grocery chain...Wegmans that originated in Rochester...we have one here and it is such a busy store that I wish they would open another somewhere in the area....they are now in Jersey, PA, VA...I asked my neighbor who is a manger in another town if they ever talk of any plans in the area...response was that they will never build another store in NY because of the taxes.

Another great update! I had to copy this photo because as soon as I saw it I burst out laughing. That very same saying is my text message alert on my phone! I get a kick out of it every time I get a text message so to see the t-shirt just makes me smile :)

You guys had a GREAT first day. It's so awesome to see how quickly you all just became familiar and comfortable with one another. I know the two girls had been friends...but the guys meshed quickly too! :grouphug:
