Chapter 1: Viva Las Vegas




So the time has come& everyone has been waiting for this. . .

Oh...just me?

Anyways... we will start this tale as the best always do with&.

ONCE UPON A TIME. . . . And that time was 5 a.m. (EST)

When you wake up, get into a taxi and are at the Airport before the sun is even up you know there is a problem.

Although I definitely need to get used to that this trip, later on you will see why!

Our flight was at 8:35 a.m. (EST) and surprisingly the security checkpoint went rather fast.

We ate at the hit restaurant at the Airport called Which wich?

Can you guess what they have?

*Buzzer Noise* time is up. . . its Sandwiches

I would have some fabulous pictures but I forgot. . . I am a rookie cut me some slack!

I had a turkey sub. . . yeah I sometimes eat lunch for breakfast dont tell me you dont!

Our Flight took off at exactly 8:35 am and it was great!

Four and a half hours, and six and a half episodes of Survivor (Season 26) later I found myself in the City of Sin.

We even arrived early!
Which didnt matter because our next flight was changed from 11:30 am PST to 1:10 pm. . . its fine it gave me time to charge my laptop and take over a corner of the airport.



For those of you who have not been to the Las Vegas airport here are the landmarks. . .

The first thing I saw was this&



What is an oxygen bar? I have no idea and frankly I would rather not find out&

I get my oxygen naturally and thats just the way I like it.







What kind of city of Sin would this be without slot machines right in the airport?

As though the people here havent lost enough money on their vacation, lets just bet away those plane tickets too!

I am going to let you in on a little secret; I love to go to the casino at home& there is one casino near my house that is 18 and up. . .

Every slot machine had a sign that said 21 and older only. . .



I guess I can still get my picture taken next to it&

So as I am writing this my Dad runs up to me and says that they moved our flight back up! I was so excited because that means we get to San Francisco sooner.

Then the unthinkable happens. . . we are all boarded on to the plane when they announce that we cant go because of bad weather in San Fran.

After about forty five minutes we are finally in the air on our way to San Fran!

Chapter 2: Welcome to San Francisco from Edwin M. Lee​

​

I mean that’s not the marching band I am used to but it will do!

I am positive that they mayor sent that just for me!

Well, after we got our bags we had to go to where the shuttle my dad set up prior to our arrival.

We made a lot of friends… there were 11 people in a van that can comfortably seat 8

I know what you’re going to say, “BUT MARK there are 11 seat belts”… I said comfortably.

It was a short ride until we arrived at …

THE HOTEL TRITON… yes Triton like Ariel’s dad.

This hotel was a little, how do I put this?

Offbeat? Yeah that sounds good! This is the lobby…







I mean it’s the lobby… surely there is a normal hotel room, right?





It’s not as offbeat as it could be!!



Oh, well it seems i spoke too soon... yes that would be a leopard print robe in the closet. There is also a yoga mat in there too!

You will also notice there is only one bed… I have a cot for a few days…

My mom and I are hungry so my dad decided to go to North Beach (San Fran’s Little Italy) for dinner…

Great start! I've been to the airport in Las Vegas and remember being a little surprised at the mini casino right there in the middle! That's when I knew I wasn't in Alabama anymore! Haha!
Looks like the mayor knew he was getting the famous Mark of DCP and character selfie fame!
That hotel...offbeat...yeah. But actually it looks offbeat in a cool way.
