You're a Disney Snob DBF: The SS. Island Breeze Anni Trip! Update 3/13

Not sure if you ever got your reply about the liquor store, but there's a Hess station directly across from DTD at the Planet Hollywood stop (that's the 2nd stop for resort buses). We stocked up on a case of water ($4.99 for a 24 pack compared to $2 a bottle in the parks) and just brought 2 or 3 with us each day and bought some beer too for at night. Especially since beers are $6.50 a piece at the resort :thumbsup2

I got them I got them I got them!!

I have MADE MY ADRS people!!

I got everything I wanted!

Had to change the day for Le Cellier but it actually fits into our plans BETTER!! I haven't been able to book Ohana's breakfast for our departure day because the new system is taking over but I'll get it I know it!!

Another clue to my surpiseeee anyone? Muahahah:)

subbing! :goodvibes Just found your PTR! Your pics are very cute! I like the AK one also! :cutie: I'm so glad you were able to get your ADRs! Can't wait to ready more!

Welcone teafortulips! Just in time for my surprise!

First of all let me apologize for slacking on this pre-trip! I have been a very busy bee and a sleepy one too! I have a whole bunch of things to share so hereeee we go!

First off:
I got all of our ADRs including the Ohana breakfast which I had to wait on because of the new system and with our 5 TS credits we will be eating at Le Cellier, Ohana, 1900 Park Faire and the Spirit of Aloha dinner show which takes up 2 of our precious TS credits. Some people would this "Ah what a waste you can get 2 perfectly amazing meals for those credits!" But wait here's the thing... My DBF is very very picky and HE suggested the Luau. I owe him for waking him up for a 7:30 breakfast last year so he chose the luau and were going. Well I was planning on booking Cape May for our backup if I couldn't get Le Cellier but I lucked out and didn't need to book Cape May, but after reading menus and the location and seeing a day of our trip sad and lonely with no TS I realized I Did need to book Cape May, and that's exactly what I did! So were adding Cape May to our list and paying oop for the Ohana breakfast like we did last year.

PHEW!

Now into some top secret information that has come to fruition within the past half hour of me typing this :)

I have upgraded us to Theme Park View at the Poly!

You read me right, I took the plunge and we are now flying high with a TPV tucked into our plans! I so longed to stay in Tuvalu because of its perfect placement along the Seven Seas Lagoon and its proximity to DBF and I's favorite mode of Disney Transport: The Boat, that upgrading was the simplest answer to the question of will my vacation be as relaxing as we plan. DBF and I are doing Disney in the relaxed manner that the Polynesian inspires. We want to lounge in the hammocks and drink tropical drinks (you bet your mouse ears I will be drinking as much of that delicious guava passion fruit juice as I can handle!)

The other upside to upgrading is our original request was to ask for a balcony. With our new and improved booking category, not only is Tuvalu still and option, but the only TPV rooms in Tuvalu are on the third floor and they all have balconies! So by putting in one request (ie Tuvalu) instead of multiple (ie 3rd floor balcony) I feel we have increased our chance of enjoying our time even more!

My only worry is DBF has been very keen on my payments because he too as to keep track so he can make payments as well, I'm worried that he will call for to make a payment and the unsuspecting CM will spill the beans on our new total and he will ask me what is going on. I think I'm going to call to make a payment and tell the CM away from DBF that the change is a surprise and inform them of the price it 'would' be had I kept everything the same. (It will be easy because my first payment cleared all the cents off so all of our numbers have been even so far) so hopefully I can get that to work out :)

Even more news! (You thought I was done? I haven't updated you guys enough so I'm updating in a huge clump to tide you over! :))

My surprise!

Here's a little background:

When I was younger I had a stuffed bunny named Bun Bun. Bun Bun was my favorite stuffed animal ever (you know you have one too :)) Well Bun Bun would go everywhere with me. School, the beach, the store, everywhere. My first trip to Disney world was Bun Bun's trip to Disney too.

Well as the years went on and BunBun became old and tattered, I received many other stuffed animals from boyfriends or my parents or aunts and uncles who didn't quite understand that I was getting older.

So fast forward to 2005 for my second trip to Disney as a school trip for choir. I had with me a little stuffed giraffe. This little travelling companion didn't have a name but kept our choir company. He was retired after that trip to save the memories. Last year I didn't bring a stuffed companion and I knew I was missing something.

So for Valentine's Day I got DBF a stuffed Panda so I thought: hey what a good way to break him in, so I grabbed him some sunglasses from build a bear so he's officially coming to disney with us :)

Here's the kicker...
YOU guys get to request locations for our new friend to get his picture taken, sort of like a flat stanley if you will :)

Wanna see Panda in his home turf in Japan? How bout riding BTMR with DBF? Or enjoying a nice visit with some other wildlife at Rafiki's planet watch?

So that's my surprise! I'm sorry by pretrip isn't very exciting but I'm trying! I hope this new addition to our trip keeps you guys interested haha :)

Hey! I just found your report and am loving it!! You and your BF are too cute together :goodvibes: I just wanted to say that I'm SO JEALOUS that you're staying at the Poly, in a MK-View room at that. You're gonna have such an amazing time!!!

Just joining in! I like the idea of going through the parks solo, I tried to do that one trip with my cousins and transportation took too long and it didn't work out but just the idea of it was awesome lol. Imagine all the things you could do without worrying about another person!

How exciting - I bet you will have many a happy evening looking out from that balcony!

Panda really should get his picture taken with the main man - Mickey!

It wouldn't be Disney without that! Or what about riding up front on the monorail?

Squee to theme park view!

Squee to theme park view!

:)! Where in Taxachusetts are you from?

Sooo our trip is less than 80 days away!!!!

Were so close to being payed off too but I'm kinda worried I made a bigg payment online and I'm used to calling Disney and it being taken out of my account right away and this one is taking a while to be taken out. I'm nervouse bacause I don't wanna call Disney and 're-pay' because if they both come out then ill be sooo overdrawn it would be terrible :/

DBF called in a payment to Disney but I had to talk to the CM first cuz I didn't want her to say the 'real'balance because then DBF would know about my secret upgrade and I don't wanna ruin the surprise!

And in other news: I should be rescuing Panda from DBFs house and ill be posting pictures of him soon! :)

I have work late the next few days so before work ill be working on my 'welcome package' for DBF. I'm planning on making him a little story and printing him some little day planner sheets so he won't have to ask me 'what's next?' :)

I can't wait to start the Final Countdown (my favorite 80s song ever haha)

Thank you all for riding along on the S.S Island Breeze :) there's more to come so hang on! Grab a drink and enjoy!

Hey Meg! I just found your PTR! Your plans sound awesome so far. I'm completely jealous that you are staying at the Poly...theme park view no less! I'm sure it will be amazing. :goodvibes

btw Final Countdown is what plays when my DBF calls me :rotfl:

ohhh im getting so discouraged:( I feel like my trip is so far away and im not as excited anymore.

someone helppp!

i called Disney today to make sure my payment went through and our alance is slowly dwindling thats the only upside.

Pictures of Panda this weekend hopefully!

I'm in SE MA.

Finally a picture of my travel companion!

Cute right? He's very soft and fluffy but has no name :(

I wanted to name him after one of the bears koda and I don't remember the other one but I dunno any suggestions? :)

ohh! I have a question for you all!

DBF and I are really into traditions and collecting little things from places we go and things we do when weere together. We love taking pictures and are really into picture frames and photo albums so were looking for a very Disney thing to do/collect. I already asked DBF about pins and he said he wouldn't wear pins but likes the idea of a pin shadow box or the wall frames with the pin sets in them. I like the refillable mug idea but they're not doing resort specific ones. I'm planning on finding something small that every resort has to get on our trips in the future and having something to show our kids/grandkids/friends/family kinda like a milestone marker to show how our relationship has gone through the years.

Does anyone have any ideas on some specific little things that we could get/do as a couple to have as a keepsake? I'd love something that can be collected in a set or a group (like pins or shot glasses) but won't run out after so many trips (like a towel from every resort unless they build more).

I love the idea of repeat pictures like our france one. I'd like to have a picture frame collection but where do they have picture frames for bigger pictures (like 8x10) I remember seeing little frames everywhere but no bigger standup or hanging frames.

Do they do portraits anywhere in Disney?

Another thing, I currently have a thread open over on the DISmeets board asking for a Memorial Day meet in Epcot. So far we have a few people interested and I was wondering if anyone has had a DIS meet and how it went. I really like the idea of having the lime green mickeys as a DIS Signifier so I think I might make a cute little card that says 'I had a DIS meet' or something cute like that.

What do you guys think? Is that lame? Haha :)

Im here...why dont you guys pick a spot in the park/a resort and take a picture of you guys there.frame it in one of those cheaper picture frames that are for a 5x7 with postcards until you go enough to fill them up....it will be you guys at your favorite place in WDW and some WDW fun (post card). Or pick up a disney ornament alot of people do that ! :D hope that helps!

What about silhouettes in Liberty Square, or caricatures as a couple (at most resorts)
