Hi there, I'm a bit late to the game, but I'm subscribing too! I'm one of those people that reads more than posts too But your posts have inspired me.

I never really understood why so many people wrote/read trip reports until I started reading yours. I'm hooked!

Your enthusiasm and stories bring back so many memories of previous trips I have gone on too. The first time my family took a trip to Disney at Christmas was my first year of college too! We did the land and sea package and I just remember being in love with all of the decorations We stayed at the beach club that year and they had the coolest gingerbread carousel. It's hard to believe that was over 7 year ago now, it feels like yesterday.

Glad you and your mom were able to switch over to the POR, that other place looked little sketchy...I mean 80s Teal couches? It looks like they renovated the outside but not the inside

POR is great through! That's where I stayed on my last trip and I would definitely stay there again!

Love the pictures of you and your mom with the characters and the stories to go along with them Hopefully when I go with my older sister next week I can get her to meet some characters with me!

Kadence is loving your Princess photos! Rapunzel and Flynn is har favorite. She was lucky enough to have met them when they were both doing the M&G. She wishes she would have asked to look in the satchel!

Hi! I've been reading your TRs for a while but I just recently made an account here so I decided to comment and not be a lurker. They are so entertaining!

I've never seen much of Disney World at Christmastime (both of my trips were in summer) so this is an added bonus. And the Mickey Santa hat is adorable!

Ahhhhhh the Christmas party. THAT'S THE STUFF.
I seriously think that the cookie and hot chocolate are some of the best I've ever had! DELICIOUS.

Tangled is the best movie ever. Like over the last year it's really gained on Little Mermaid for me. DID NOT see that coming, ever! hahaha
It's really funny though, because ALL of those characters are 'different' than the ones I met at the party the next week!

Oh my gosh MVMCP looks so magical!! I would've been stressed out too if that was the only time I'd get to go and didn't know what to do. But I agree, cookies always help. Especially after the insanely long day you and your Mom probably had!
Love that you got to meet some of the princesses and their princes! I love meeting the princesses and all but when their princes are there...well it's just 1,000 times better!
So glad you got to meet Rapunzel & Flynn too!! Meeting them on my birthday trip was probably one of my favorite memories ever. Even though we waited almost 3 hours, those two are definitely worth it. I really need to watch Tangled with my mother too, because I made a reference to the movie awhile ago and she had no clue! It's okay for dads to not know the princess movies I guess, but I feel like our mom's always have to be up to date! haha

How great to meet another diser by random! And I know how you felt about the party map since I felt the same way but luckily I knew which characters were where! I loved meeting the princesses with their princes! It was so much fun, and I think the princesses are better and more talkative when they have their princes! And Flynn Rider was great, I just love that movie

As soon as I clicked on this and realized it was you, I subscribed without reading any more! I've read every trip report you've written, I think, though I don't post much (you may remember a few months back when my daughter saw your picture on my computer screen and thought you were Jasmine!).

Now I am all caught up! Loving it! I think you and your mom have convinced me to try Sinaa!

We loved that Prince/Princess Meet and Greet when we went to MNSSHP. I'm close it in my TR, but it's been taking a while, and honestly I've been avoiding that whole night...you'll see why. We DID ask what was in the satchel and got an AMAZING crown shot!

On another note, I am so glad you decided to change resorts! That looked so creepy!

I bet one day that I'll recognize you when you're there!

What a great couple of character meets!!! That's going to be our focus next trip! We always get so tangled (pun intended ) up on running aound and doing everthing that we forget about the characters!

Ha-ha nice pun. I used to ALWAYS rush through the rides but then I realized that the characters and the entertainment are the special part of the party, so it's more important to see them than ride rides. I can always go to late EMH for the rides!

I was recognized once up here away from Disney by someone on the boards that read my TRs and it was a bit wierd at first because I wasn't expecting it. It was kinda surreal, especially because I feel like I don't have that many readers in general.

That sounds like an absolutely AMAZING trip! I have never stayed at the beach club or gone on a Disney cruise, but those are like some of my dream vacations! And during Christmas too!? How perfect! I'm glad this TR is bringing back memories!

Yeah that's exactly what we thought too! I guess there were some new rooms and old rooms and we got stuck in the old ones. I'm so glad we left!

I'm sad that we didn't get to spend as much time at POR as I would have liked. But it was really cute and perfect for what we needed that trip! I really liked it!

You reminded me of my childhood with the disney christmas sing along. Even now at the age of 22 i sing those songs and no-one else gets it! I used to love the huey, duey and louie one...dear santa we've been so good...we've done everything good kids should...here's just a little list, don't think theres anything we've missed lol!

Im pleased you love your new school, you just know when its right or wrong! You made the right decision to change!

Jess I just want to say that you should be so proud of yourself for deciding to transfer school.

When your worried about money, letting parents down etc it is so easy just to stick at something you're not enjoying (I made this mistake), you're so brave for speaking up.

I'm so glad you're going to be majoring in theatre, it's where you belong and I truly believe that we should always follow our hearts.

I just started reading this report today. It made me so happy to have so many nice updates to enjoy for my Saturday relaxation extraveganza!
I focused on character pics on my November trip and am glad I did. I was always jealous of other peoples photos. And I also got some pretty photos of me with the night time castle. It is so wonderful to see it lit up at night. And night time is so great for character pics. Mickey and Minnie were just standing around and were excited when I showed up. I really did want to see Repunzel and Flynn! But I knew that Flynn wasn't available when I was there.
I wish I would have seen the famous Frump when I was at Disney!! I would have asked if you could make a deer face for me!
I hope school is still going great.
I am looking forward to more report! MORE REPORT!!! please!!!!

Haha I know, right? You would think that I would be like "oh yay going back to Disney. woohoo." But the thing was... I was SO much more excited for my next trip! I was like DISNEY DISNEY DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!! My entire life was literally Disney during the whole month of December since I wasn't in school. If I wasn't there, I was getting ready to go.

I am SO glad I said something because I really wasn't happy there. I knew that it wasn't a right fit and it felt so good to just start over. I am SO much happier here! Thankfully my parents were really supportive and they are so happy to see that I am actually enjoying college now!
I agree! Theatre is such a big part of me that giving it up would just be a shame. I love having it in my life and continuing to develop the techniques and be surrounded by it makes m e a lot happier!

Hoorayyy!!! I went away to Hawaii for a few weeks and I come back and it's all happening. So excited for this trip report!!
Firstly have to say that I am yet another one who can relate completely to your situation. Started off college doing a sensible degree at a really nice school... couldn't get performing arts out of my mind so I transferred to an arts school and did my degree there. There were people who all along the way questioned my decision and why I would pick the arts as a career. Telling me there are no jobs, and no money in the arts and I should go with something more reliable. But it was seriously the best decision I ever made. I've been out of college for 3 years now and I have my dream performing arts job. I get paid well to do what I love every day! Seriously love my job to death.
I honestly think that this is a perfect decision for you and am really happy for you that it all worked out. Sometimes you have to go through the sucky time for God to show you where you are meant to be in life.
Sorry to blab on a bit, I just am really happy for you that you got where you need to be right now. There are sooo many great opportunities to work in performing arts you just need to be creative and always keep your eyes open. But Yay Jess. So proud!
And oh so jealous you got to go twice in December! Early Dec is my fav place to be in Disney. You get so much of the Christmas feel without the crowds. Love it!

Aaahhhh...Disney at Christmas time looks amazing! My hubby recently became a Disney travel agent and gets some super deals so maybe my dream of being there for the holidays will come true OMG!!! The fact that you were recognized at WDW via DIS has to be the coolest thing ever!!! My hubby and I follow along with all of your TR's and we totally laughed out loud together...super-mega-turbo full of awesomeness Sanaa looks super yummo...always wanted to try it but was sketched out that the food would taste weird. Your photos however make it very convincing Glad school is going well, but DON'T give up on the DCP! You're so young, live it up, frump

Oh wow, Hawaii!? I am so jealous!! I want to go there SO bad (and stay at Aulani hahaha) I bet it was absolutely amazing - I hope you had a great time!
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who has done this! Your post really made me feel even better about my decision! Everything is working out so perfectly right now so I really know that I'm in the right place! I am SO happy that you love your job!! Do you mind me asking what you do exactly? I feel like there are A LOT of options in the entertainment field... you just have to keep an eye out!
Aww thank you so much! I really believe that too. God definitely has pointed me in the right direction and I know that this is all going to work out! I'm not sure what job I will end up getting but I know that this college is SO much better for me and my major is going to be a lot of fun! And like you said - lots of opportunities! I'm sure something will work out! I just want to do something that I love, so I thought I might as well chase my dreams and get even better at performing so I can have the skills to audition for any opportunity I can find when I'm older!
And I agree - early december was absolutely PERFECT! I would love to go there during that time every year!

Mmm Sanaa is REALLY good. The food doesn't really taste "weird.." it's just "different." But it's SO good! I really enjoyed what I got - it was pretty basic for Sanaa I think. It really is delicious so if you're ever brave enough to test it out I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed!
Thank you! And don't you worry - I won't give up!! I am DEFINITELY going to do it. It's the highest priority on my list right now. I don't know when exactly (hopefully next year spring? don't know) but it will happen!!

Hahaha it's okay! LOL very observant noticing the band aids! You will see lots of band aids in these pictures from this trip. I got big bandages for my knee which you'll see in the pictures from the next few days haha. But yes, I'm I was rewarded with delicious christmasy food! YUM!

Chapter 7: "May All Your Christmas Wishes Come True!"
December 6th, 2011

We exited Town Square Theatre and I immediately recognized the beginning of the Holiday Wishes soundtrack! HURRY UP MOM, LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!

I limped as fast as I possibly could to Main Street USA!

The crowds thankfully were not heavy, so within the first couple minutes of the show I found myself a spot. It was on the left side of the street a few stores back.

Now, I'm not usually one who is a big fan of posting a million pictures in a row and being like "here's my update, the end!" but basically... I took a RIDICULOUS amount of pictures at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and I really want to share a ton of them with you!

So here's my FIRST onslaught (yes, I stole Kristen's word) of Christmas entertainment photos. Enjoy!

Applause, applause, applause. Tears are shed. Beautiful show, absolutely stunning.

But really, this show is magical. I really, truly loved it. It is the perfect fireworks show for the Christmas season!

So once that show was over, I got a phone call from Nat. She was calling to inform me of the result of their musical "Guys and Dolls" cast list. However... she didn't know I was in Disney. And I was on Main Street USA. After the fireworks show. It was LOUD.

What did I do in that situation? Duck into the Main Street Bakery, of course! Mom and I grabbed a DELICIOUS chocolate croissant to split while I chatted with Nat for a few minutes. (I didn't tell her I was in Disney until I got home.. in case you were wondering LOL)

MMMM this croissant was so good. Like... WHY DOES DISNEY HAVE THE BEST FOOD EVER!?!?! I just don't even know. It was fantastic.

So Nat and I wrapped up our conversation and then we were off again! We had to take some castle pictures while we were in the area - it was just so pretty!

As you can tell we were wandering while we were taking these pictures. DIFFERENT ANGLE!

Alright, that's our whole castle photo shoot. (For now. Who are we kidding, the castle photo shoots never end on this trip!)

We were heading over to Frontierland at this point. We wanted to go meet the Seven Dwarves!

Unfortunately, we got all the way over there and the line was RIDICULOUS. Like.. ugh I just couldn't do that. And I'm sad because we never got the chance to meet them... but it's alright. I guess I'll just have to go back someday!

Christmas Tip #9: If you want to meet the Seven Dwarves at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, line up RIGHT at the very beginning of the party! The line gets SUPER long and the wait would basically take up your whole night.

We left the area where the dwarves were and went to that main walkway through Frontierland. We could see that they were setting up for Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade!

So guess what we did....?

Found ourselves a nice curbside spot and waited for the parade to start! HOORAY!

Alright so if you thought I had a lot of Holiday Wishes pictures... be ready because I basically captured this ENTIRE parade in photographs. Literally. You will see at least one picture of every float.
