Are you close to your teenagers boyfriend or girlfriend?

Yes.

He's like another son to me . . .real down to earth, caring, nice. DD has been going out with him since September.

When he comes over he hangs out with DH and DS and they play some video games and then he hangs out with DD.

When they have one, yes, I tend to be.

My whole family loves my boyfriend. We've been together since we were both 18 and we're both almost 20 now. My mom tells everyone he's her future son-in-law, and my dad is always talking to him about computers and stuff.

My sister's boyfriend is another story. They first got together when she was 15 and he was 14, she's now 17 and he's 15. They broke up a few times because he cheated on her and was always hanging out with other girls. He also gets mad at her a lot and yells at her, yet she doesn't care and stays with him. My parents don't really like him (especially my dad who hates him), but they got used to him since he's over the house almost everyday.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 4 years, and he is very close to my family. I am 20 and he is 23.

Wow, my oldest ds is 16 and I wish he had a girlfriend. He went out for a week with one girl last year. I later found out why they broke up. Her dad was the president of the school board and he said shes not allowed to date and if he caught her she would be pulled out and home schooled. He is always being invited to so many sweet 16 partys. 3 girls like him at work. He said he is not getting a girlfriend until he is driving his own car and he can afford to pay for the dates etc. Gee. He does have a best friend who is a girl. He said, mom, you dont date your best friend. I have taken her to the movies with us and other places several times. She also used to work with ds too. Oh well, one day there will be a princess around the house.

Hmmm....I don't know if I would say "close", but we like him very much and he is at our house fairly often. He's a little on the shy side so it tends to be a tad difficult to get close to him. We hope to be though.

i know you asked parents this question...but i thought i'd give you my little story :)

i remember waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when...when matthew (now my DH) and i were dating in high school. my family was very close to him..so close in fact that my parents became his legal guardians! he had a less than desirable relationship with his parents at the time...he stayed at our house a lot. and then one day, my parents filed for legal guardianship of him! he moved in and just became one of the family! it was quite convenient having my boyfriend living with me when i was 15! ;)

try as we might, it was very difficult to maintain a sibling type relationship when in the presence of my parents...lol...but it made things pretty interesting for us when we "took a break" from each other. we broke up for about a month or so...i was insanely jealous of any girl that caught his eye in that time. i could tell that he kinda liked this one friend of mine. i knew he was on the verge of asking her out...in fact, i believe he did ask her out. wellllllllllll, we couldn't have the object of my affection dating someone else! so i went to daddy...whined about it...and he grounded him! he couldn't take her out!!! :hyper: how pathetic was i? lol...we did get back together soon after that, but then moved to arizona...he had a falling out with my parents and went back to iowa a few months later...we tried the long distance thing, but that wasn't going to work for a couple of 16/17 year olds...inevitably, we broke up..and came back together 10 years later!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Sounds like something my dad would do!! Too funny!

My DS doesn't have one steady girl (which is fine with me since he's just 16), but he's "involved" with two girls. One of them I adore and one I don't care for. I have to be careful to not let my dislike of the one end up pushing him in her direction.

Ashli's had two boyfriends that I got really close to (I didn't dislike the others, just wasn't close to them) and, well, I'm still close to them both. The first one was a young man whose mother is my best friend so it was very easy to get close to him in the first place.
The second one was Titus, a young man that was in the army and stationed in Iraq. I still feel so close to him and talk to him whenever I get a chance.
