I really like both.

DS10 likes American Adventure better. He almost always falls asleep during Hall of Presidents.

Glad to hear your girls enjoyed both shows.:D

DS was 9 when we saw AA and he loved it. We're both looking forward to seeing HOP on our next trip.

How were the crowds during your trip? Was COP open?

Both are enjoyable, but definitely American Adventure tells more of the "story"....it's actually, and has always been one of my favorite attractions in WDW!

I was a kid when I first saw them (younger than yours for both). The American Adventure was noticably more enjoyable for me as a kid. I really wanted to fall asleep in the Hall of Pres. but my mom loved it so we were forced to see it. So I would definitely pick American Adventure for your kids over Hall of Pres.

Crowds were manageable, especially early. Actually, Disney MGM Studios was the worst for us, because we did it later in the day. MK was great - two early entries plus another day from opening to parade, plus one evening. We hit some traffic in AK due to the fact that we went on Earth Day / 5th Anniversary Media day. They had some paths blocked off which really bottlenecked the crowds.

COP was open! So was Timekeeper.

Have fun!

I think that kids should be to exposed to history and both these places are good. What got our kids through Hall of Presidents...for the first time anyway....was to tell them that there was one "actor" playing a president while the others were mechanical (forgot the correct word)....anyway....they were glued to LOOKING rather than listening and ended up enjoying it more than they thought. You might give that a try....But my vote would be for the American Adventure.
