just wondered im staying at the AKL and most meals there at Boma, but going to kona a few times , so were are you going for dinner? any recommends? as its my first time at a disney resort , also on a dining plan thanks

I would say to try other resorts for dinner. I see it's your first time at a Disney resort, but have you been to Disney or seen the other resorts?

Since you are on the dining plan I would use that oppurtunity to try different places. Check out allears . net to see menus. My favorite was Ohana dinner at the Poly. We had breakfast at Boma which was great but we also tried Ohana breakfast, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickeys which were all fun.

Next trip we are going to try Via Napoli or Tutto in EPCOT, WCC in Wilderness Lodge (DD choice, can't be avoided) 1900 park fare in GF and Cape May in Beach Club.

Good luck with your planning and have a great time at AKL!

You also have Jiko at Jambo house and Sanaa at AKL Kidani. They are both two of our favorite places to eat at WDW.

If you have never had Boma you may want to not have many meals there until you know if you like it or not.

People either love or hate it.

I am in the hate it catagory. Not because the food is bad, but we don't like the spices they use in everything......sweet spices, not hot spices.

Meats, potatoes, even soups all have cinnamon in them. Everything tastes like a holiday dessert.

So personally I would schedule 1 dinner there and see, but would def. go other places.

when we stayed at AKL we ate Boma for dinner and breakfast a few times...we prefer breakfast and we were not a fan of dinner. We loved Jiko. I would try other restaurants during your stay not just Boma b/c there are so many good places to eat. Look at menus and see what fits your taste or what you are interested in trying new food.;)

have took your advice and booked a few more out of hotel here is the list ... coral reef, chef mickey , kona, Grand Floridian Cafe, Tusker House Restaurant for breakfast so i can see donald now im so looking forward to my time at disney :woohoo::dance3::woohoo: also cape may cafe and maya grill i feel like im a kid all over again :)

You'll love Tusker House breakfast buffet...my husband, son and I love it and its a must every Disney trip. Grand Floridain Cafe is wonderful food too.
Have a magical time...

I must admit that I have never eaten at the same restaurant more than once on a WDW vacation. (I do go back to some on later trips.) There are so many to chose from. I suggest that you look at the menus and pick some places that look good to you. Don't go just by other people's opinions - people are faster to complain than to say something nice.

I would schedule a dinner and maybe a breakfast and that is it. I wouldn't think you would want to eat at Boma every day. IMO if you are going to be in a park, it's easier to eat in the park you are going to be in. I would try restaurants at other resorts too, but that can take up a lot of time getting there.

I prefer not to travel all over the place to get to a meal so I schedule our ADRs at our hotel or at/near the park we will be at for that time. AKL has GREAT options for meals so definitely try them when you are lucky enough to be staying onsite at AKL!

i have looked on the menu's and now going to a few diffrent places , january cant come quick enough:woohoo:
