What's the most famous thing you've ever done? Ever been interviewed on the news? Or appeared in a TV show or movie? Let us know what you did before you faded back into obscurity.

In 1979, I was in eighth grade. We were vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, and The Love Boat (the Island Princess) was docked next door to our hotel, at the marina. My mom befriended three older women on the beach who were from the cruise, and they invited us onboard to see the ship. They happened to be filming too. We got picked to be in a background scene, and can be clearly seen being Julie McCoy and Isaac the bartender. We also met guest stars Donny Osmond, John Amos, Rich Little, Loni Anderson, and Marion Ross. Then my star faded fast.

Are we supposed to believe this coming from a person whose avatar is Pinocchio with the lying nose? haha. J/K. I am a forever fan of The Love Boat. I wanted to be Vickie when I was a kid.

I've had a couple small TV moments, but I think my biggest "15 min moment" was years and years ago, when the singer of Third Eye Blind called me up on stage to sing U2's "I Will Follow" on stage with him. I feel sorry for the 5k people in the audience for having to hear me. lol

Trust me, if I was going to tell a lie about something, it wouldn't be about being in a background shot on The Love Boat!

I hope you weren't on the stage with Third Eye Blind for a literal 15 minutes!

Getting chosen as an “extra” in the Indiana Jones stunt show at HS twice. 🤣Once as a child in the 90s, and once as an adult pre-COVID.
Same role?

I got chosen at the Monster Sound Show once. And one of the guys at MILF, but not "THAT guy."

I appeared in a local Irish newspaper about that year's polar plunge. I don't remember exactly where it was (after googling I see it's in Rathmullan so maybe that's it?) but it was associated with the Special Olympics and I had to take a train from my apartment to get over there. That whole day is honestly a blur because I ended up getting mild hypothermia LOL

I've been on the local news a few times - nothing too special. The first time I was ever on TV was in 1989, they were doing a story about "Bat-Mania" and I was at the mall in this t-shirt shop. I didn't speak or anything, but they were filming all the people looking at Batman shirts. I think I ended up buying one too.

I have done a few of the stage things at the theme parks. I seemed to get picked more at Universal for some reason, though my parents did Superstar Television at MGM back in the day. They did the Cheers scene, and really messed it up. 🤣 I have been the Rebel Spy and "That Guy" too!

Yeah, I hear you. Not "lie-worthy"! haha But a great experience!

And no, not on stage for 15mins. But probably about 3 and it felt too long! haha

I'm jealous you meet Donny.

When I was 12, the local ABC affiliate decided to stop showing Dark Shadows and I was in a group of people the picketed the station. We got our picture in the paper. 20 years later, I was WORKING at that TV station.
At my five year High School reunion, most of my classmates knew what I was doing because my name was in the closing credits of a local TV show. I was surprised how many of them watched that show, and how many of them still had not finished their 4 year College degree 5 years after graduating. Many of them were the "smart" and financial well off kids. I lot still didn't know what they wanted to do with their lives and were trapped in the academic world.
Beyond that, while I worked in TV News for 42 years, I never had a job on camera. But working in a TV station being on camera just happens, I don't count that. Although the last 5 years of my career.....excluding the 15 months during covid when I worked from home.........our newscast was done from the newsroom and the back of my head was behind the main anchor for 3 hours a day.

Getting picked from the crowd to participate in the movie production skit they used to do in the street at Hollywood Studios. Well it was MGM back then. I even had a line. "Vivian I'll save you!"

Years ago, during a blizzard, I decided to run to work instead of staying home. I was in Central Park when a local news reporter stopped me to ask what I was doing. I told her I was running to work. As I exited the park, a cab driver yelled out to me "I know you, you're running to work". He had just started his shift and watched me being interviewed a few minutes prior to leaving his garage. I didn't take him up on the offer and continued my run.

Well... July 14, 1992 my wife made the front page of every national newspaper... just her and another woman..... I am registered in the library of Congress as a story teller and another cause with the Oregon supreme Court....so I don't have to write that next American novel

I have been on local news before, nor interviewed or anything just happened to be at a couple events where I saw the camera go by me and I checked the broadcasts later and I saw myself in the frame lol

Having lived in LA my whole life (and Culver City most of the time), I've been in the background of a lot of movies and tv shows. I was also in a couple commercials when I was a kid.

Years ago (prob early 80's) I was in the audience of the Phil Donahue show when he came to UoP and Sacramento. I asked a question on tv. Rumor had just started that he was dating Marlo Thomas. She was back stage and next to him when we got to shake his hand (or some got autographs) after the show.

I was interviewed and appeared on 2 local news TV broadcasts about a 3 fatality car accident that occurred in front of my house. I live on a bad spot on a country road. They hit a tree.
