Your Favourite Gifts & Souvenirs?

Although Im not 10 anymore I have to get a stuffed animal every time I go, this trip I came back with Figment. Also, picture frames are a must, and fridge magnet, and I did spend the money and bought the pix in front of the castle.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet are charms. I started a charm necklace two or three trips ago. Now I add to it with two charms each trip. they are getting hard to find also, hope they don't quit selling them. You can find them at World of Disney or at a cart outside by the train ride (I think?). Anyway it is a good reminder and lots of folks comment how cute it is. The jeweler where I have the charms added are always looking forward to my next trip so they can see what charms I get. :rotfl: :rotfl:

And I also get the photo album with year, antenna toppers, a frame, and sometimes magnets. And all the other stuff also. I also like things I can use like kitchen towels. Those are good for others as well.

Love the Monorail Fridge Magnet. Push the button and hear "Please stand clear of the doors" and more. It's like having a little piece of WDW right in your kitchen that you can access whenever the mood strikes!

I was looking all over for them last trip - the only place I could find it was the World of Disney in DTD. :)

I always bring home the Mickey shaped dark chocalate covered pretzels for my family. I always bring home pins and ornaments for my xmas tree for myself. I got those antenna toppers for my brothers car (he loved them!) and I got my boyfreind who is a self proclaimed grill master an apron with goofy on it that he wears now when he cooks. He also wants to collect steins so I bought him a stein in the Germany Pavillion with Mickey etched into it and had his name engraved on the back of it at one of the Germany kiosks. Also brought home some italian chocalate from the Italy pavillion for my family.

We love the chocolate in Italy. I usually get shoes (flip flop and slip ons) in China. I love body Butter from the Basin shop in Downtown Disney. There is a really cute glass ornament you can get in Mexico glass shop. It is of Dumbo. (This makes a great gift for someone for Christmas.) I think they also sell a Mickey in a plane. Also earings Made from glass there. Mexico sells leather bags for a good price and they last a long time. Love the different teas all over the world. Gosh there is so much great stuff.

Well,I like to find really cool souviniers that have actual use after my vacation. Stuffed mickeys are cute, but they tend to just sit and collect dust. My favorite souviniers/places to get them are;

For myself (mind you, I am 16), I love to shop at Epcot and downtown Disney. Last time I was in disney, I got two purses, one form the Virgin mega store and one from the UK pavilion. I love them both and am reminded of my trips everyday when I see the. I also like jewlery and t-shirts. They're always good bets.

For other people, if you have a lot to shop for, you can find all sorts of cute and unexpected trinkets throughout Epcot, though some of the most interesting things I've found were in the shops after the rides. NEVER RUSH THROUGH THESE! They sometimes have really cool stuff that goes with the theme of the ride.

For little kids, in toon town, they have this Mr. Potato head/ my little pony things where you can pick out a ton of little things that go with each of them. Also, there is a plethora of stuffed animals there, and all kids love stuffed animals. If you are planning on getting things for a little girl, be sure to know their favorite princess! You can get crowns, necklaces, even wigs, and if you get the wrong princess, well, that would not be a good thing.

Just be sure to have fun! Most people will just be happy you brought them back something!

My DH and I absolutely adore the cookbook that we got at Mickey's Pantry at DTD. We got the first one, however, as my Parents and Brother (+Brother's friends :joker: :joker: :joker:) are going in August, I'm thinking that I'll request they bring back the second cookbook.

Even though I was heartbroken to see that they didn't have the parmesan mashed potatoes from Chef Mickeys, we've made TONS of good recipes- it's fun to remember our trips that way... we always enjoy our dining experiences and that's really the only way we can look back on them (without having to fork over the $$ that we won't have for a LONG time! :rotfl: )

DH also likes the music selections- he finds the most at the Art of Disney store. Gotta keep him away from the vinyl set. :rotfl2:

I love those big Disney mugs. I bought a Happiest Celebration one and a 2006 one. The quality is amazing - you can use over and over and they do not chip easily at all.
I also love Mr. Potato Head, Scrapbook items, special pins, photo frames, Disney prints, etc.
My kids love the Mickey Mouse lollipops on a big stick. Only Disney can make a lollipop taste like heaven!

Oh, dear...I'm cheap. I take napkins with the park logo(es) on them, and I save the little ride photo tickets (I do like to buy the ride photos anyway)...postcards...some of those little badges to put on a lanyard; I have a "Rock Star" one from RnR and a "Jedi Knight" one from Star Tours (funny story about that one, but that's another thread)...I have a black leather wristband from Frontierland and a $3 skull ring on my thumb from a cart outside the Haunted Mansion...

Usually I buy one or two t-shirts, too, but that's about it.

For both myself and other adults, I prefer the more "subtley" disney souveniers (at least insofar as clothing goes) -- I am not one to wear a Mickey t-shirt outside the parks. However, I am a huge fan of the Polo-style shirts with the little Micky silloutte where the polo horse would otherwise be.

Also love the kitchen stuff -- mickey head shaped icecube trays, oven mitts, mickey shpated pasta, etc.

Pins (for myself, not others). Although I'm not a pin-trading fan, I like the pins as a relatively inexpensive way to document my trip. In my quest to stay at every on-site resort, I buy myself a resort pin each time I go as well as a pin from the newest ride, attraction, or theme for the trip -- something to date the trip. I have a couple of lanyards that hang on my kitchen bulletin board with these pins on them. Fun too look at while waiting for my morning tea to heat up.

Finally, love the christmas ornaments. I'm particularly fond of the Mickey head glass balls in a bunch of different colors

I like cookbooks, jewelry, CD's and of course, the sweatshirts! I also have a Mickey keychain that I LOVE!

My kids love the pin trading so that's their favorite souvenirs. They also love the masks that we get at Epcot to decorate. They hang both their pins and their mask up in their rooms.

Last time I got a simple Disneyworld keychain that I use everyday. Each time I get it out of my purse it reminds me of our last trip. :goodvibes

We also get one of the pics they take with the kids and Mickey- it's fun to see them change each time and the latest one goes on our fridge. My dh likes to get a cap and I like to get scrapbook stuff too.

Lastly, I like to get the refillable mugs each time- they're a good souvenir too.

The recipe for those wonderful Parmesan potatoes is on allearsnet.com under their recipe page.

I love those, too! They are the real reason that I go to Chef Mickey's!

Favorite Souvenir:
I absolutely love my "Theme Perks" coffee mug set!

Must have every trip:
We always buy a personalized Mickey ornament for the "family" and then the kids. Last trip DD got the ballerina Minnie with her name and the date and DS got the Football with Mickey Ears, I added his name, year and Jersey #written in his school colors.
Pins, Pins and more Pins

Wish list:
This next trip I would like to get a charm bracelet and a bunch of charms, the dangle kind, not the Italian.

Favorite store:
I found the merchandise to be the same in a lot of places and I was looking for something unique but not stupid expensive for my Best Friend. The gift shop in the castle was really nice. It had a lot of unusual things that ranged from reasonable to stupid expensive. The crystal figurines were beautiful!

ornaments, african masks from akl, postcards, picture frames & albums, ears, food (ie ghiradelli chocolate, the ginger bread kits from the gf at christmas, etc.)

I collect shot glasses, and WDW has TONS of them. Epcot is a treasure trove of shot glasses.

They make good gifts to bring back for friends & family too, because they are small, relatively inexpensive and nice looking (most of them anyway).

OH NO!! I hadn't thought about Epcot...Do they have a shot glass for every country? I'm doomed!! (I too collect them)...Somebody better go ahead and tell me how much they cost so I can put that in the budget I thought was already done as I know I won't be able to resist!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I was a single Mom and took my DS, now 8, to Disney for the first time in 2003 for Mother's Day. My son "bought" me a watch for Mom's Day. It was $250.00, which I did not want to spend, but well worth it...I still wear it to this day. My son will also say, every now and then, "I bought you that for Mother's Day". What a wonderful remembrance of our trip.
