We'll be driving down from Reno, NV for Thanksgiving.
We've done this many times over the last 20 years,,, just wondering whats your favorite stops, all along I-5, from Washington, the Sacramento, to the Bay Area... the whole route!
We do almost all of the Starbucks, it's so boring out there! lol!
The Anderson Pea Soup in Santa Nella, it's it's not the middle of the night....
Also where do you stay, if you get a motel along the way.

I've loved Anderson's since I was a little, little girl. It's so retro now...I just love it.

When traveling we stop at every rest stop, and usually gas up and grab something to eat in santa nella.

Santa Nella and Pea Soup is retro! I've had Pea Soup for breakfast, lol!
Nice gift shop too...

We always hit the In n Out Burger right before the Grapevine. Even thought there is an In n Out Burger only 5 minutes from our house, I never go. It just tastes better when you're on a road trip! :)

Hey Flamegirl, looks like we'll be there at the same time!! 42 days for me!

I don't know what exit it is, but we always stop at Love's for gas and snacks! They have nice bathrooms there!

Lost Hills. :) That's where we always stop too, the gas prices are good and the bathrooms are the cleanest! We've stopped in Santa Nella a few times but Lost Hills is halfway (well almost halfway) for us so we generally stop there, gas up and grab a bite to eat, then off we go the rest of the way to DL. :)

Flamegirl, we'll be at the Red Lion Inn.
11/23-11/28
Where are you staying?

There is an exit that is something like Kettleman. We usually stop in that area to get a bite to go.

Yep, Kettleman City. This is always one of our stops. The McDonald's there is overcrowded and dirty, but the In 'N Out is great and has a huge, usually clean bathroom. There's a Starbucks nearby too and a bunch of gas stations.

We like to stop at Vista Del Lago visitors center on the Grapevine.
It is a water museum with free entry & clean potties.

The other stop we do is off 152 (which links to 5)
Casa de Fruta!!!
www.casadefruta.com

They have a train ride, carousel, & play ground.
There are four open air markets
Casa de fruta (fruit)
Casa de dulce (candy )
Casa de wine (yummy sandwiches)
Casa de nuts

We can easily spend an hour here.
Great for the wiggly riders in the car.
