Hey! This is the place to post your favorite song...and to comment on other's favorite songs. And, hey, why don't we throw in who our favorite musicians are? Mine are...

Norah Jones...I really didn't like her at first, but then I really listened to her music and I started to love it! I also like when she did the song "Angels" with Wax Poet.

Favorite song of all time? Wow, that is a hard one. Probably American Pie, its one I always sing along to no matter where I am and most people I know do too.

My favorite band of all time, another tough choice. I would say its a race between Led Zepplin, Queen, The Beatles, Little Feat, and Aerosmith. Being forced to choose just one, I would have to go with The Beatles since they have the largest body of work that I like.

I'm somewhat stuck in the 70's, but still love rock and roll of any era. Its just not as easy to find these days, but there are lots of newer bands that I like too. I also like jazz and R&B, but don't care for rap, country or most pop music.

Song: Pride(In the Name of Love) by U2. "... Early morning April 4. Shots ring out in the Memphis sky. Free at last, they took your life. they could not take your pride. In the name of love ...."

Musicians: (Pop/Rock kind of perspective)

Drums: Neil Peart of Rush. Hands down, best of all time. Try his solo on "Working Man" on the live Exit Stage Left album. Listen to Tom Sawyer on the radio next time. Good drummers are kind of a lost art, Dave Grohl is good, but he would rather sing for the Foo Fighters.

Bass - Probably Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Good riffs on their album Bloodsugar.......

Lead guitar - Prince (or is he still known as the symbol). Guitar solos on the Purple Rain soundtrack are first rate. Also on the song Kiss.

vocal: Allison Krauss gives me the chills. Bjork has range. It's a toss up.

My favorite artist is Jackson Browne, and any song he sings is my favorite. (Fountain of Sorrow, Looking Into You)

My favorite sing-a-long song is American Pie, like you snoopy!

I am totally out of the loop on what/who is hot now. I, too, am happily stuck in the 70's.

I do not like at all: Rap, hiphop, "true" C&W. I do like many crossovers from these groups. JMO, that's all.

I also love George Winston for instumentals. His music is very moving, and his social consciousness(is that a word?) is inspiring. Every concert he holds, he asks for canned goods donations for the local food bank.

I recently read Douglass Adam's (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) postumous last book (The Salmon of Doubt). In it was a essay he wrote in response to the question "what would be your dream band". He said that his dream band no longer existed because its second guitar player had been shot, but that he'd take its bass player please.

My favorite song is "Hanging by a Thread" by The PushStars. It is a song that has really touched my soul. I am very thankful that I have had the chance to tell the writer how much it means to me.

Hanging By a Thread
By The PushStars

You found your place
I’m still seeking mine
In a stranger’s face, took me back in time
When I knew my soul was a vacancy
And I was lost in the suburban dream

What will you do with your life

I’m hanging by a thread
It’s happening again
I’m still the same, won’t never change
Dangling from the edge
Too afraid to take the fall
I’m still the same, won’t never change
I’m still the same

It seemed too clear when it beckoned me
To leave my home and my family
But the words were dark
And the river ran wild
And the city called to the desolate child

I’m hanging by a thread
It’s happening again
I’m still the same, won’t never change
Dangling from the edge
Too afraid to take the fall
I’m still the same, won’t never change
I’m still the same
