Kungaloosh, friends & fellow Adventurers!

We discovered that we are obsessed with the AC all too late on our last trip. We got to go twice, and stayed for about five hours each time. I found that while the storyline was pretty much the same, that the experience was different each night. The second night , the actors were playing different roles (ie. Samantha was now the maid...Hathaway Brown was now Fletcher Hodges). They remembered us, because we sat in the same seats for a long time and talked to us a bit. It was very fun.

We each had a couple of Kungalooshs the second night, served in monkey nut coconut head things, too. :) Yum!

On our upcoming trip in Dec. we plan to go at least twice (we'll be staying 3 nights, but one night will be at MVMCP until probably around midnight).

So my question is , do people ever feel like the AC gets old? Can you do the AC every night of your trip and not get sick of it? I feel like it's different each time because of the way they interact with the crowd, and because there are so many shows, that you can't possibly see them all in one night.

What do you think? What have been some of your favorite experiences at the AC? Have the cast, Beezel, the masks or any of the others ever started talking to you? Do you have the Adventurer's song and motto memorized? Do you say Kungaloosh to someone at least once a day?

And on the flip side, do any of you not like the AC? Why? What is it that you don't like?

Share your AC stories here!

Kungaloosh!

This is something we've never done. But, we really want to check it out this August. Would this be appropriate for my 11 y/o dd? She loves theater and mysteries. And we do like doing something a little different at night. Any thoughts?

I have seen some children there, but my honest opinion is not really. It's quite risque and not really something I'd feel comfortable having my 11 year old neice watch.

I'd say, if I had to give the AC a movie rating it would be PG-13.

BUT, as with everything at PI, you can't control the drunken behavior of the crowds. While the AC is relatively tame compared to the dance clubs, there are still drunk people there and who knows what they are going to say.

Maybe, if you go, go early in the evening and leave before it gets too late (say around 9:30).

Excellent thought. That's what we'll do. She's pretty mature but we sure don't want to expose her to anything 'too' adult. We could go at opening and leave around 9ish. Besides we tend to turn into pumpkins in my family if we stay up too late!!

I think , if your comfortable with it, than it's fine. It's not THAT bad. The worst thing I saw, that was initiated by a CM was the "maid" kind of bending over in her french maid outfit and a male visitor taking her picture while she did this

There were no children in the room and it was done during one the presentations in the treasure room.

The colonel on the wall also referred to a group of women in the audience as "hoochie mamas" which was pretty much done in good fun and was silly.

That kind of stuff. If she can handle MTV , she can handle the AC.

That said, since I mentioned my neice...she has never been allowed to watch MTV although she watches rated R movies. But her mom tries to sheild her from the more risque stuff (the R movies she sees are usually R for stuff like car chases etc.)

Is there AC somewhere I could go alone? Or is it a place to share with friends? I will have this Sunday night free, and a plus on my hopper that I thought I'd check out PI. My husband really hates the "club" atmosphere, so I thought this would be my chance. I've always thought the AC sounded like fun, but would it be fun all alone?

I've attended this place for 12 years off and on, and frequently for the last 4. Too many stories to recount. Most of my visits have been on my own.

Get tired of it? I seriously doubt it.

My last trip we went 5 nights in a row, never get tired of this place. Once you go, you get hooked. AC really is a good place to go alone or with friends. This place keeps you laughing.

We took our daughter shortly after her 12th birthday, stayed until about 10. She loved it, and there was nothing that made me want to cover her ears. The only problem was, she's kind of a natural mimic. We had Yvette the French maid with us for the rest of the trip. Ooh La La, and that laugh. Diana

My experiences have always been great.

The cast is great to interact with. I like how while the place is ostensibly set in the 30s, they'll use songs from the 60s and toss in references to 80s and 90s movies. On top of that, I'm a sucker for the maids (Sugar Snap in particular...YOWZA!).

I do it every year. It's funny, entertaining and never the same twice.

Sincerely,

John "anotherboardnposter" Kilduff

When we were there a few weeks ago, one night we started talking for a while with a young guy who was there solo. He seemed to be having fun. You end up talking to the people around you, and the cast. It's really fun.

But if your DH hates "clubs" , AC is not like the other clubs on PI, there is no blaring music, there is no dancing, and it's not reallya comedy club. You basically just go and sit, have a drink or two and watch the cast & audience interact.

It's really fun.
