Your bags on Kali

I have a clear plastic backpack packed with a towel, change of clothes, and a few other things. It has done reasonably well at keeping the stuff inside dry on both Kali River and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges (Universal's even wetter version of KRR). Plus, it makes bag check a lot easier. I put my phone in a waterproof case I bought off Amazon for added protection.

Because we could not have gotten more soaked if they had tipped the raft over and made us swim to the exit. I don’t mind getting splashed, even heavily, but this was ridiculous. Like jumping in the pool fully dressed then having to stay that way all day.

Not everyone defines fun on a water ride by getting soaked. With a poncho that works you get the water hitting you and the exhilaration of it, but you’re not dripping wet and chafing for the rest of the day.

That's so weird. When we rode it I had a poncho on, but even if it wasn't on I barely would have gotten wet. Now when we rode Splash I got absolutely soaked.

My cousins rode splash for decades and never got splashed until they rode with us on our first Wdw visit. Soaked. Drenched. To underwear.

A bit of luck, but mostly weight distribution. An even distribution of weight, it's luck - but if you have all the heavier weight on one side, they tend to go down first and get soaked. Note on the video - there are empty seats right across from the people who got soaked.

You're not kidding about Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges! We were there at a rather low crowd time, so I didn't see soaked people getting off. Which meant I ended up being a soaking wet person getting off. I've been on a smilier ride at Six Flags, and while I get wet, I don't get soaked through to my underwear and water squishing in my shoes soaked. I don't go on water rides expecting to stay dry, but I don't go on them expecting to be as wet as if I'd gone swimming, either. Fortunately, we were staying onsite, because after that, we went back to the hotel to change. There was no way we were going to dry our on our own, and I couldn't see sitting on the upholstered seats of Hogwarts Express with our soaked clothes.

Most of the time I walk off of Kali barely touched. It's a real bummer as compared to Blutos Bilge Rat Barges at Uni where everyone comes off the boat is 100% soaked

That's my daughter too! She is always dripping wet like she just jumped into a pool soaked. And I'm next to her and get quite wet too, but not as wet as her. My husband and son sit across and laugh... I hope they get the wet seats next time!

Well that's good to know if I ever decide to ride again! I would've just breezed by the lockers and been stuck with a wet bag.

We put all of our stuff in the lockers, changed into flip flops, and put on ponchos. It was great when we got off because we asked people if they wanted our ponchos (we weren't going to use them again). They seemed really grateful to be offered ponchos and I didn't have to carry around a wet poncho anymore lol

We wound up buying new clothes after that one! Never again.
