Now as some of you will know I thought you guys and girls would be the best people to ask this. In WDW what's your favourite tipple and where do you get them from?

We don't drink much alcohol at home but we thought it would be a nice treat to have something while we are in WDW celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. We're not into expensive wines but then again after looking at some restaurant menus you get charged way more for a bottle of Pinot Grigio (sp?) than we do here!! We have most of our meals booked already but are keen to try some new drinks. DH is often happy with a Bud or something similar but we gave margaritas a go a few years ago and liked them and I tried a "Southern Belle" OMG that was so fruity and very strong. So maybe you can make some suggestions:goodvibes

Do I have to pick just one??

I love the Sunken Treasures and Island Sunsets from the Tambu Lounge at the Poly

The Bahama Mama's from the YC are fantastic

Epcot has the best drinks, the Grey Goose Slushie from France, Nuvo from France, Grand Marnier Slushie from France, Peach Snap from China Tea Stand, Rosa Regale from Italy, Welsh Dragon from England

The Magical Star Cocktail from any restaurant in WDW

DH is fond of the Tusker Beer from AKL and their restaurants

That Lapu Lapu thing from O'Hana's was yummy. I also enjoyed the Spaced Invader at Sci-Fi and the bellini at Mama Melrose. Actually, all of my drinks were good except the Cosmo I got at the lounge outside Chef Mickey's. That drink had only been shown vodka in a book, I swear. For $10 or whatever it was, I'd like to feel the burn, ya know!

I like many that have been mentioned, but my all time favorites are definitely:

Pina Colava, any restaurant in Disney (pina colada with raspberry swirled in)

Sultan's colada, drink stand in Morocco (pina colada with almond liqueur)

DH likes to try whatever the "local" beer is at specialty restaurants -- the French beer at Les Chefs, the Indian beer at Sanaa, the beer flight at the Rose & Crown, an so on.

I'm partial to the adult milkshakes at Sci Fi and I love the picnic punch at 50's PTC. I also enjoyed a drink I had at the Dawa Bar at AK (over by Tusker House) but I don't remember the name of it. Others have already mentioned the great selections in Epcot.

While at Epcot - you cant go wrong with any of the fruity slushy drinks!!

Mexico - Margarita frozen - I know on dining reviews people love the "Fiesta" margarita - but there is one flavor I dont care for, and I dont like to "mix" my flavors anyway - I stick to the Lime!

Germany - go back inside to the store that sells wines and take a sweet wine flight!!

Italy - Your anniversary :lovestruc Get a glass of Rosa Regale Champagne - its red, fruity, and doesnt have that "champagne yeasty" taste/smell - it smells like berries - strawberries!! One bottle is $19, one glass $10 - taste it and buy the bottle to take back to your room!! :lovestruc

France - Grey Goose Slush - its lemony refreshing - the Gran Marnier Slush is DH's favorite - its not sweet, kinda an orange taste - not sweet, not tangy!!

UK - inside the pavillion I've read reviews of a drink - Welsh Dragon - - I'm going to post the link!! (I'll just post a pic and bump up the alcohol thread!)

(look at the drink around the world)

My favourite is the Strawberry Basil Lemonade at Boma. Delicious and not too strong, to be honest the Lapu Lapu nearly killed me.

Also like a glass of champagne, sangria (not very authentically Spanish but lovely all the same) and the wine flights in some of the restaurants.

Ah, totally have to agree! We were at WDW for my b'day, and my hubby got me the "enchanting" princess basket from the disney florist which included a bottle of this. I HATE regular champagne, but this "sparkling red" was delicious!! It is also so pretty! lol Unfortunately, we weren't able to open it till our last night, and 3/4 of the bottle ended up down the sink. :(

I def recommend this!

I have three favorites or tips for drinking at Disney. I must admit, I am a margarita connoisseur and know a good one when I drink it.

1. The Margarita stand at Downtown Disney. They have a signature Margarita with Don Julio. It is good but costs more than the Patron Margarita. Get the Patron Margarita. Very good and very potent.

2. The bar at 50s at Hollywood Studio. Very good margaritas, and also they do Shirley Temples for the kids in souvenir hard plastic straw cups with flashing light bulbs.

3. If you like wine with your steak at LeCellier, get the half carafe instead of a bottle. In my case a bottle was $30, a glass was $8, and the 1/2 carafe was $20. The waiter opened the bottle and poured all but a small glass worth in the Carafe and I got 3 Very deep glasses out of it. I really don't know what he did with the rest of the wine, except maybe go back in the kitchen and drink the rest. This bottle had plenty of sediment and that is all that was left in the bottle.:thumbsup2

Our WDW vacation is not complete unless DW gets her Lapu Lapu :)

She loved the recs for Poly so we might have to linger a little longer at the lounge on our upcoming trip!

Anyone looking for a good pint - Raglan Road has the Guiness 150 which is very good. Couple of those and I was ready to do my own jig on the stage.

I had the Magic Star Cocktail on my most recent trip and it was my favourite. Sweet and yummy.

I also second the Peach Snap from the Joy of Tea stand, the grey goose slushie or the Welsh dragon in Epcot.

I wanted to try (but didn't) the octopus juice at the Coral Reef.

OOOh interesting choices, I may have to try a Lapu Lapu in the Tambu Lounge;) Those margaritas sound lovely and I may just have to squeeze in a couple of the drinks from Joy of Tea:worship::worship:We have a nice meal booked at YSH and another at TE so I;ll keep in mind the comments on a carafe:thumbsup2

I agree that Rosa Regale is great!

What is Lapu lapu?

LAPU LAPU ---Tambu Lounge

1 ounce Myer's Rum
1/2 ounce Bacardi 151
Scorpion Mix (consists of half-and-half sour mix and orange juice)
Enough ice to chill it, crushed so it fits in the pineapple
Garnish: Cherry
Served in: Hollowed fresh pineapple, the pineapple stem is the lid with a small wedge removed so a straw can be inserted. Cut the leaves off the stem and reattach to the "lid" using a shortened toothpick. Make a slice off the bottom of the pineapple so it will sit upright properly and not tip over. Yes, this means the bottom will be moist and sticky.

There is a whole thread (started in '06 ) that has pictures of the drinks!!

of course I went to my photobucket account to discover I didnt have any pictures except the grey goose slush :rotfl2:
