I've been watching since the beginning too. I'm glad they're bringing Dru back, even if someone else is playing her she's such a great character & I hope the new actress can do her justice.

ugadog99: Hi, I live in Franklin just a few miles away from you, it's a small world after all (darn, now that song is stuck in my head).

I can't believe Dru is coming back with another actress playing her, That is going to be hard to take. I'm another one that has been watching from the beginning.

I was probably watching from my crib!

I remember Dru coming on, and I remember her as Paula on the Cosby Show (always thought it was neat that she and Neil were both on there, but at different times). I never wanted anyone else to play her, but Tamara was really good as Jessica on ATWT, so we'll see. She seems a little older and more serious/mature than Dru, though. She is also rumored to make a small stop on ATWT as part of a story that writes her daughter Bonnie out.

What are we going to find out about Cane this time?????

I don't know why I just thought of this, but does anyone remember back when the police dept was in full force with Paul's daddy and Andy, and Tyrone (wasn't that his name?) was made to look like a white guy to bring down the mob, and I think it was the mob boss's daughter that fell for him??????

•Deacon's assistant seeks help from Kevin about a problem he's having (I think he may turn out to be the sibling Kevin didn't know about)
•Amber learns Heather is not dropping the charges against Daniel as originally planned so Amber comes up w/ a plan•Neil doesn't want Lily to go back to Cane fearing Cane will break her heart again but Lily refuses to listen to him
•Tyra returns and learns Devon told Neil about their ONS. Tyra tries to talk to Neil who is in no mood to listen, thinking back to how he did Karen wrong
•Victoria and JT argue again about Victor leading both to turn elsewhere for comfort - Victoria and Deacon. JT and Colleen who have no idea someone is taking photos of them together

Next - Deacon wants Amber to marry him; Abby wonders what's going on w/ JT and Colleen

Her plans don't always work out...what could happen now.:confused3

wasn't that Nat or Nate?

it was olivia's hubby - by the way what happened to her son? Nate jr or Nat jr?

he's been in boarding school a very long time

When I was in the grocery store this afternoon, I saw a CBS soaps in depth magazine that had the new Dru on the cover, but I couldn't see who it was since it was at a different register. I should have gotten the people at the other check out lines to pass it to me!!:lmao:

No, this was someone else, but he may have been Nathan's brother???? I'm going to try to find it now. I just know I loved that storyline.

Nate was in med school last time he was mentioned. I wish they would bring Remy from GL in to play him. He is such nice eye candy, and I hate to see him disapear after GL ends.

I, too, have been around forever! Tamara Tunie is a great Jessica but IMHO too old to play Dru. There is only one Drucilla! Sorry to TPTB. Can't be replaced.
Tyrone was not Olivia's hubby. He was playing a white guy in love with the mob boss' daughter. I just can't recall if he was just an associate with Paul and Andy or exactly who in GC he was connected to.

Jazz was his brother, not Nathan, but they were all in the same story:

In 1984 and 1985, law student Tyrone Jackson investigates the activities of Genoa City's local organized crime family, headed by Joseph Anthony (Logan Ramsey). The mob boss orders his henchman "Jazz" (Jon St. Elwood) to kill Tyrone, unaware that Jazz is working undercover with Tyrone, and further unaware that Jazz is Tyrone's brother. To save both of their lives, Jazz takes the corpse of a man whose face is damaged beyond recognition and fools Anthony into believing that the body is Tyrone. Meanwhile, Tyrone (who is African American) uses heavy theatrical make-up to disguise himself as a Caucasian and infiltrate Anthony's organization. Under the alias "Robert Tyrone", he quickly becomes one of Anthony's most trusted advisors. No one else is aware of the ruse except Jazz, Tyrone's former girlfriend Amy Lewis (Stephanie Williams), and private investigator Andy Richards (Steven Ford).

As part of his cover, Tyrone romances Anthony's daughter Alana (Amy Gibson), who is unaware of her father's criminal activities. After Alana falls in love with "Robert", her father insists that he marry her. With Tyrone's help, Jazz and Andy manage to gather enough evidence to dismantle the organization, but their investigation is discovered by Anthony, who orders their deaths. Tyrone breaks his cover and convinces one of Anthony's men, "Kong", to help him save Jazz and Andy. The police arrive to rescue the two men and bring Anthony to justice, but not before "Robert" and Alana are married. A shootout ensues and Anthony is killed. Because his assistance saved Jazz and Andy from certain death, Kong -- whose real name is Nathan Hastings (Nathan Purdee) -- is granted immunity from prosecution. He reforms and soon becomes a private investigator himself, replacing Andy at Paul Williams' (Doug Davidson) detective agency.

With the Anthony organization destroyed, "Robert" removes his disguise, revealing to a shocked Alana that his real name is Tyrone Jackson . . . and that he is Black. Although initially hurt and betrayed, Alana becomes obsessed with Tyrone and claims she still loves him, regardless of his true identity or the color of his skin. Although Tyrone has developed genuine affection for Alana, he is not in love with her. After Alana finally accepts this, the couple has the marriage annulled and she leaves Genoa City. Tyrone attempts to reconcile with Amy, but discovers that she is more interested in Nathan. Soon thereafter Tyrone -- now a licensed attorney -- leaves town.

I knew I had seen Phil Morris "Tyrone" on other shows, but I forgot about Seinfeld!

Jackie Chiles, the flashy lawyer he played on "Seinfeld" (1990), was based on the late Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., who defended O.J. Simpson. Even the initials were the same.

Did Phylis say at the end of this clip, "I don't want you involved I'll raise this child"?

That's what I heard. Seems like an odd thing to say. Sharon should be out of the psych hospital before giving birth - so I don't know why Phyllis would raise the baby.

The cover is all Y&R. Big picture of Ashley "Oh No, if Ashley Killed Nikki...All Hell is Going to Break Loose!". Picture of Nikki with "Is Nikki Katherine's Daughter". And the misleading cover story "Y&R Dru Recast Speaks Out"...which is Kent King who once substituted for Victoria Rowell. They ask her whether Dru can be recast. She says she doesn't know because Victoria Rowell IS Dru.
Soap Scribe Spills the Beans - an interview with Maria Bell. She says in the next year they'll be seeking the answer to who is Katherine's daughter. SID bets that it is Nikki. She won't say never to Jack being Summer's father. But it's not on the forefront. Neil is still searching to fill the hole left by Dru. MAB said it's hard to replace Dru. SID says once he truly has, maybe then? Bell smiles.
Ash gets family support. Traci returns to GC in early September for a four or five week arc. She comes to support Ashley who continues on a downward spiral. Traci is bringing along her husband Steve.
A tabloid reporter, played by Access Hollywood correspondent Laura Saltman, confronts Phyllis and Nick on August 24th. Saltman expects Access Hollywood to air a segment on her Y&R appearance on Friday, August 21 or the weekend edition on August 22-23.

-----------------------
"Ashley over the Edge"
Ashley hasn't completely forgiven Victor for ousting her from Jabot and unseting Colleen from the Newman Board. She's trying to keep her marriage together and her sanity. She's starting to think that Sabrina was actually alive until she killed her. She suspects that Victor may be behind her belief that Sabrina could have faked her own death. She thinks that Sabrina's death may be an elaborate ruse that Victor staged.

Her trust in Victor in damanged as is the image she had of him for many years.
Billy and Jack stage an intervention by using the anniversary of John's death. This backfires. She recognized the trap and says no.
Jack receives a visit from John, who tells him to take whatever drastic measures are necessary. Jack petitions the court to have Ashley committed. If Jack commits her Ashley will never forgive him.
Hammer (Y&R writer) says "all hell is going to break loose. This is launching storyline for this fall. It's going to explode in September and I think fans will be in for one very shocking surprise!"
---------

Y&R filmed location scenes at LA's Franklin Canyon Park. The storyline involves Adam, Victor and Mary Jane.

ok - lets do a poll

who was watching when dru was on?

...and he taught her to read.

Not to ,mention becoming Jabos top model. I also have been watching since the first week on. Lots have changed that's for sure. So many characters have come and gone that when I watch the archives of lost shows it seems strange.

As long as it airs and I am alive I will watch, unless it really goes over board.
