Day before yesterday, I had 2 friends over and we were just being bored. We went outside to sit on my front porch swing to talk. We knew it was about to rain because, the wind was blowing and the sky was really dark. Well, it was starting to thunder so we were a bit jumpy. All of a sudden there was a very loud bang and lightning came down in my front yard!
We feaked out and ran inside. We all ran to my Mom who was holding my baby nephew. We went in the den to make sure my Dad was okay. Me and My friends were huddled together and my Mom and Dad were checking on the computer. Again the bang happened only this time the lights flickered and I saw something white. We screamed and huddled even closer. Then I noticed my Dad was holding my Mom's shoulders and she was holding her wrist.
It turns out that she had been unplugging the computer right when the lightning struck. Fire came out of the plug-in and she had a loud ring in her ears. Luckily, she had handed my nephew to my Dad.
We went in my paren't room with candles until the storm died down. I came in the den and saw my Mom staing at the ceiling. I looked up and saw that the roof was leaking. I figured something was wrong so I got a jacket and went outside. I went to where I could see the roof clealy and my jaw dropped.
There was a hole about the size of a basketball in the roof over the den where the lightning had stuck. I also saw where it had been traveling down the wall that my Mom had been unplugging the com.
A lot of things were killed in the storm. My parent's computer, 5 phone lines, 2 TV's, the stove, the TV dish, the fax machine, and printer. We haven't checked everything ,yet. I would have posted this earlier but, I haven't been able to connect to the internet.
My Mom is alright. The ringing in her ears stopped a few hours later. The house still has a big whole in it but, we'll get that fixed soon.
What really freaked me out was this. When my Mom was like,.. 5 yrs old, she had a brother named Buddy who died because, he was electricuted. She talked to my Aunt the day the lightning struck and found out something reallly weird.
The day the lightening hit was the anniversary of his death. Talk about freak out!!!
