Which of the kids clubs is you or your child's fav? Why? Our son, almost 6, has been to the Neverland at Poly and we thought maybe we'd try a different one this time. Thanks-Rebecca :wizard:

Hi Rebecca-

I have a six year old boy and he LOVES the clubs! We visit Disney World often so he has been to a few of them-he has visited The Cub's Den (WL), Neverland Club, Mouseketeer Clubhouse (GF) and Simba's Cubhouse (AKL). He really loves all of the these but his fave is Simba's Cubhouse. I asked him why he loves that club in particular and he mumbled something about the fact they had Star Wars toys.

Whenever he goes to the clubs he is really happy to go; whenever we pick him up he is very sad-going to the clubs is just a fun as a day at the MK in his eyes!

Hi there! I have always heard that the Neverland Club is the best, but I have not had DD (she is 6 1/2 now) try it yet.

We have tried Simba's and Cub's and Camp Dolphin and she loved them all. It is such great peace of mind to enjoy a leisurely night of drinks and dinner with your SO, knowing your child is having a blast and not missing you one bit! :cool1:

Just an FYI...if you dine at Blue Zoo (which we did, it was incredible) or Shula's(both at the Dolphin) you can get 2 hours at Camp Dolphin FREE...for your child/children! Great deal!

I just asked my daughter (little Miss Know-It-All) for her favorite kids' club. Her words follow (exactly): "I told you I don't have a favorite anymore. I like 'em all." According to her, you can't go wrong. ;)

I'll see if I can dig up a recent post of mine that talked about the Beach Club's Sandcastle Club. I'll post it once I do.

Okay, I found my post:

My children have attended many of Disney’s childcare clubs. They’ve had fun in all of them regardless of their age at the time. Sadly, I do not have photos of all of the clubs, but I do have photos of a few that I will share (note: my photos do not do the childcare clubs justice):

Beach Club’s Sandcastle Club: click here
Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Simba’s Cubhouse: click here
Grand Floridian’s Mouseketeer Clubhouse: click here and click here

I wrote about my daughter’s experience with the Beach Club’s Sandcastle Club in an old trip report. Click here and look for post #114, and click here and look for post #132.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the pics and report, Janet2k. I always get excited :Pinkbounc when you respond to a thread because you give such thorough information! :teacher:

Are the kids clubs only open to Deluxe Resort guests? We are going to be staying at the WL (01/26 - 02/03) but just found out that Roaring Forks will be closed. So now we're thinking of changing hotels...maybe to a moderate, but not sure. We really wanted Contemporary but heard that their kids club is no longer in existence. We thought AKL, but my DH is not thrilled with their menus...

Anyone have any thoughts?

You do not have to be a guest at a deluxe to use the clubs.

Hi Lauralee! You just have to be a WDW Resort guest...at ANY resort.

mmmm, I think the AKL has some of the best food on property! But I understand that it looks very unfamiliar. If your DH is not an adventurous eater, he may not be pleased with the selections.

You could always let your child stay at the Neverland Club at the Poly and then take the monorail over to the Contemporary, if that is where you really want to eat. Also, there is a kid's club at the GF, and you could dine there (Citricos, Narcoosee's etc) but I *think* that I have heard on these boards that the GF kid's club is the only one that you actually have to be staying at the GF to use, as it is very small. That is total heresay, though...you would have to look into that.

Have fun!

Thanks Wildernesslodgelover! I appreciate the help...

Yes, DH is NOT adventurous at all - LOL! Too bad - I'd like to try the AKL.

I'm just hoping that the Roaring Forks being closed isn't too much of an inconvenience...we've been toying with the idea of changing hotels all day today but are dying to stay at WL...

What would you do? Think it's a big deal?

My 5 1/2 yo SOn has been to Neverland; Simba's; Sandcastle club; and most recently Mousketeers Club. The only one he didn't really like was the Mouseketeer Club at the GF ---- I think that is because it is sooo small (1 small room, really) and had only a few children- plus the CM was more "Motherly" and less "camp-counselor" (ie. she had "rules" like no video games or tv when the dinners arrived; quiet movie time after 9:00pm -- that sort of thing). She also made him do crafts (Gasp!!!) ((Note - I didn't have any complaints with Mouseketeers (the CM was an older woman - very Grandmom-ish))---I think it would be a great choice for a child who is a bit shy however and might be intimidated by the size and loudness at Neverland (The biggest of the clubs by far).

I'd say that Simbas and Sandcastle are both twice the size of Mouseketeers, and half the size of Neverland......Hope that helps....Jill

Our son's favorite was always the Neverland Club. He is sad that he is now too old to be able to have his own "night out" (as are his dad & I, LOL!).

He's also spent time at the WL's Cub's Den, and while his first evening was great, later ones were not. It was his opinion that the staff makes all the difference. The first night the CMs really engaged the kids, but later evenings had different (and older) CMs who (in ds' opinion) wanted the kids to amuse themselves and leave the CMs alone. :confused3

Lauralee...hmmm, that is a hard call. I don't get too much at Roaring Forks...I like table service. BUT...I would be a little ticked if it was closed during my stay there...I would like to know it is available for my use...even if I do not use it, ya know? If I were you, I would call the WL and find out...wil there be a place to get coffee, milk, snacks etc? To tell you the truth, RF is not that great, anyway. I would describe it as "adequate."

Now, The Mara (Counter Sevice at AKL) is INCREDIBLE! I love that place!

Another tip for ya...if DH is into big breakfasts...The WCC at WL has a great all you care to eat skillet that is only $9.69. My DH wants to eat there every morning. I can do without all the whooping and hollering...that stuff gets old after awhile...but the food is great.

I hope you have a great time. The WL is just stunning.

Ya I know what ya mean about possibly not even using RF, but I agree - I'd like to know it's available for me. And with a picky ("I only eat chicken nuggets and hot dogs") 4 year old, unfortunately it may be "cafeteria style" for me more often than I'd care to admit! There are other posters who say they've found out that WL will have a grab & go spot set up but no refillable mugs.

I'm just obsessing over this trip and this doesn't help my frame of mind!

Our kids have stayed at the Kids Club at the Beach Club called the Sandcastle Club. All 3 have loved it - even the 12 year old. They have listed it both times as one of their favorite part of the whole trip. They've been there twice and here's the reason: My husband and I eat at Cape May and then walk to Epcot. It's great. Enjoy your night out with your husband!

Thanks teacher31 - I've been wanting to try Cape May and a walk to Epcot afterwards sounds like a great night! Thanks for the tip!

Hi, our children have been to the Neverland Club, Sandcastle Club and Simba's Cubhouse.

They enjoyed Neverland Club the best. I have not seen a facility that is it's equivelant on the grounds yet.

If anyone knows of a better place on the ground let us know.

Thanks!
