I was so proud of my 12 year old today. we went to synagogue for morning services because it was her friend's bat mitzvah. dd sat with all of her friends.

what made me so proud was the way she took it upon herself to explain the rituals to her non-Jewish friends. is this the same kid who used to whine "do I have to go?"

:D She sounds like a very sweet girl:D
You have every right to be proud of her!!!

You must have been very proud. Sometimes they surprise us! Today after hearing me ask my mother if she wanted to go to church with me, DS age 14 said, "I'd like to go" After 2 years of classes and finally Confirmation last Spring at our Lutheran church, I thought he was a little overloaded!. Not to mention he attends a Catholic school! He now goes because he wants to.

That is so cool, BR! It may not have meant as much to her (on the outside) until she needed to think of explaining it to her friends. Then, as she shared with them her beliefs and why you all do the traditions that you do, it probably was a big realization for her! Like, Yeah! This is what we're doing and this is why we do it. Very cool.
She sounds like a keeper alright! :)
