You know your a SERIOUS CVS addict when? AKA: What I am doing with my Excess products

Thanks to you guys, I just started this CVS craze- what am I going to do with all this stuff? I live alone so using it all up is not going to happen. Every time I visit my parents I bring paper towels or toilet paper :rotfl: I have another 18 rolls for them waiting for the end of August :lmao:

Would it be horribly tacky if I made baskets with some of the items for Christmas gifts? (lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner...)

You know you're a CVS addict when you know which cashiers will give you a hard time about having "too many coupons" and which ones won't. Had a new cashier last week who wouldn't let me use ECB and a manufacturer's coupon for the same item. I knew the rule - one CVS coupon and one Manufacturer's coupon so I made her get the manager. She is on my list of cashiers to avoid!

I also have to hide things from DH. I do periodically "clean out" some of the free toothpaste and really cheap shampoo and donate them to a local homeless shelter. Or to a food pantry - they usually love to get non-food items.

Baskets are a great way to use up your excess. I made baskets for my childrens teachers for the end of school year and they were a HUGE hit! I added toothpaste, toothbrush, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, clear nail polish, lip gloss, garnier makeup wipes, nail files, clippers, tweezers, and some more stuff I got at CVS. Found cute baskets with handles (think the baskets at the grocery store that you carry) at our $1 store and used tissue paper and hey came out really nice. Added a card about how this was to "pamper themselves" with and your done!

Oh let me just tell you....I was in Vegas June 10-17 and every time we drove by the glittery CVS sign on the strip, I SOOOO wanted to stop in! I know my sister would have had me committed at that point though, so I had to fight the internal urges......

OMG! Can i just tell you that when we took our trip to DIsney in May, we were there for 2 whole weeks!!!!!!! Everytime we drove by a CVS I would long to stop. I would just stare at it out the window. MY mom and DH thought I was out of my head!! LOL

Forevryoung, we have a family tradition of playing Bingo at Christmas. Each bingo wins a prize. Now that the "kids" are college aged and young adults, a CVS stash helps fill the Bingo Basket.

(My neices' new husband, experiencing our first family Christmas was shaking his head over the competition for feminine supplies, but as another neice said "Are you kidding me? Those things cost MONEY, every month!"

*The manager knows you by name.
*You panic when you're somewhere without a cvs and your travelling companion forgets something....because CVS is obviously the only place to buy drugstore items.
Then again, I've had a CVS problem since I've had a disposable income...anyone else remember when you had to get coupons from the circulars. On vacation we stopped in a CVS that was beta testing extra care cards many years ago....I was waay to excited

Not at all! Since I have found CVS and have a rather large stash I was wondering what I was going to do with all my "stuff". Well, I am involved with a non-profit foundation and every year we hold a fashion show. This year we had a new chairperson for the fashion show and one thing she asked everyone to do was to buy extra grocery items when they did their weekly shopping. She planned on doing a basket with all sorts of household products. AMEN! I was able to provide her with alot of toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, razors, etc. You all know the list. She was soooo excited with my items that at the next meeting she brought it up that I should receive something extra because of how much I had spent of all of the items I had donated. :rotfl2: I kept insisting that I did not want anything. I was jsut glad to help. AND the basket was a huge success at the fashion show. Everyone thought that it was a "clever" idea because it was something that was useful to everyone - everyone that is that doesn't know about CVS.:rotfl: So, I have already started restocking my shelves for next year. You have to Love CVS. :cool1:

me either but I sure do love Dr. appointments, and working out of town on the weekends.

Especially when they write you a prescription!

You know you have a serious affliction when you walk out of the Dr's office doing a dance like Gene Kelly in singing in the rain going "i got a script, I got a script" and envisioning how far that $25 gift card will go!!!

LMAO!!!!!!! Yesterday my DH had a physical and the 1st thing I asked him was :"Did you get a prescription for anything???" He gave me the wierdest look!!! :lmao:

Been there done most of this! When the cashiers ask your DBF if he has a wife that likes to use alot of coupons just like he did! He laughed and told them no, but my girlfriends in the store somewhere! :rotfl2:

I have a stash like you wouldn't believe!

Happy CVS shopping to all!

DH just asked me if I was reading anything interesting. So I told him about this thread. His response - you know you are a CVS addict when you are more excited to receive ECBs than money.

When you order things off the freebies board just to get the coupon- the freebie is just a bonus!:hippie:
