Ok, so we all know how this thing works. You know what I’m talking about. The initial introduction and eventual addiction to the DISboards.

This is my very first real post. Because, I mean, like, come on. Does the welcome post even count? Like I know it counts, but really? It doesn’t really count. So along those same lines, I have decided that this is my first post (because I am not counting my first one!). And in keeping with that decision, I want to make my first post count.

So let me introduce myself and my crew, my gang, my brigand of bandits (?)...

There’s ME (Yay!): princess:

You will notice I will often refer to myself in the first person, and on rare occasions when I am feeling particularly ridiculous, even the third person. I have been told though that when writing a trip report it is important to be specific, so in keeping with that tradition, you all (second person) may call me either of the following:

Boo (not to be confused with an romantic attachment you might feel with a significant other)
Rebecky (going to get my mickey ears with this name...now if I could only decide on the font)
Reeb, Reba, Rebecca, Becky, Betty, Betsy, or Boston...must I go on?

So a little about me:

This is my first trip too Disney as an adult!!!:cool1: I have been a few times before but my ability to remember events of long ago has dwindled exponentially as the years go on. :rolleyes1 Needless to say, I am beyond over-the-moon about this trip.

Want a little more info? Okay...Fine...I’ll indulge you (or at least my incessant need to talk about myself...hehehe). So I am the oldest of 18 grandchildren, my mother being the middle child of 7 girls and one older brother... so that’s 8 for all of you mathematicians out there keeping count. And yes, my Grams is a champion! But more about her later.

I am currenty 27, but will be acheiving the 28th anniversary of my birth :bday: just before our ship sets sail for the promise land (note: we are flying, no boats just yet...but there is a fishing excursion planned). I am a foodie extrodinaire :drinking1 and will be attending The Culinary Institute of America next year, so yeah I'm excited about the deluxe dining! :woohoo:

Okay, on with the show!

So this is the part of the "First" post where it might get a tad confusing. I am going to Disney with My very bestest friend in the entire world, my Aunt, who could also be considered my sister. Now, now don't get it twisted, it's NOT like that! :lmao: Jackie is the youngest of the brood and I, as I clearly stated earlier am the eldest grandchild, which makes us a mere 5 years apart in age, i.e. we grew up as sisters, and if that weren't enough of a reason to claim a connection, she is a Disney Fanatic, which I am a rookie on her Fanatic team. So about Jackie...

Jackie (32) is the mother of 3, WICKED AWESOME boys (no bias here...hehehe) and wife to a former cast member. Now remember when I begin to describe who she is, keep in mind that I mean everything I type in the kindest, sweetest, and nicest possible fashion. :rolleyes1 Jackie is obsessive-compulsive, high maintainence, needy, worrywart on the face of the planet!!! :scared1: I am also aware of how big the planet is and I stand by that statement. Besides all that, she is an excellent mother and is adored by her children. Oh and she doesn't suck as a best friend either. She will tell me when I look bad in a pair of jeans or when it's past time to pluck my eyebrows (a more honest friend could not be found...thank god!) :worship:

Shawn (34) is the father of 3 to the same kids (hehehe), and husband to afermentioned wackjob (hehehe). He is the ying to Jackie's yang. A more laidback, go with the flow, easy going type of guy could not be found. :cool2: He is an awesome dad to his awesome kids, and a fantastic husband. At this point it's a close race for who is more excited to go. Shawn being a big kid at heart or Jackie whos' days and nights are filled with thought of Disney.

Seth (11) is the Big Brother in Shawn and Jackie's family (awesome #1). He is not big on surprises and enjoys order and organization above all else. :teacher: A steadfast rule follower, but is growing into his sense of humor. He is an 85 year old man trapped in an 11 year olds body. :scared:

Eli (9) is the oldest of the twins. He is compassionate, loving and is always looking out for the welfare of others. Does his very best to keep his younger twin in line. :sad2:

Noah (9) is the youngest brother. He is the trouble-maker of the bunch. Witty, mischeivious and could very well be the most adorable kid while doing something he knows he shouldn't. He is famous for saying, "What ME?" :confused3

WaWa (71) is tha matriarchal goddess to whom which we owe our lives...literally (hehehe). Grams (as I call her), MaryAnne to the rest of the world, is the sweetest, kindest, and loveliest woman that ever was. But that is not to say that she doesn't have her own quirks. She will talk to anyone or anything (wouldn't be surprised to see her stop and talk to a bench). She is easily distracted, especially by shiney things (we are bringing a whip to keep her in line while screaming, "FOCUS WaWa, FOCUS!")

:moped: Grams will be using an electric scooter. :moped: We are considering changing her name to Scoots McGee. She has had 2 back surgeries this past year, but nothing will deter her from experiencing of the Disney magic this summer. pixiedust: Don't worry everyone, we are getting the scooter a month before we leave and are putting her through a rigoroius scooter driving school. :thumbsup2 So hopefully (fingers crossed) by the time we get down there she will be safe around small children. :drive: No seriously, I am NOT joking. Shawn is building an obstacle course under Jackie's insistence and supervision.

So that is a brief roundup of who is going. Up next is the when, where, and hows... PLUS Pictures of the entire Gang!...

STAY TUNED!!!

Post Numero Dos... Hola! Como si dice "Disney" en espanol? I've decided to test your linguist abilities and post en espanol...kidding! But seriously kids, it's important to expand your education by learning another language (that was my PSA for the day...you are quite welcome!)

As promised this post entail the WHEN, the WHERE, and the HOW!

So WHEN:

July 28th to August 6th - Yes folks that is 10 Days of glorious Disney immersion! We are also ready to bake!

The WHERE:

That's where things seem to deviate, I shall explain:

Jackie, Shawn, and the boys will be staying at The Grand Floridian! I'm super jealous but I want to wait to stay there on my honeymoon (still looking for the groom...but that's neither here nor there).

Grams (WaWa) and I (Rebecky) will be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. I have seen the pictures and heard the stories of how lovely it is there, and SHADED (yay!).

Got to love the 4 for 3 deal!

The Ultimate HOW:

We are riding in Pimp Style. I have my cup on the packing list so I won't forget it (hehehe). We are taking a stretch limo, courtesy of Shawn, to and from the airport.

We are flying out of Philadelphia and landing in Canada, wait Disney's in Ontario, right? Kidding again, eh? Our flight leaves at 7 in the am. Which means we must arrive by at least 6 am. Which then also means going to sleep the night before will be a HUGE waste of time! Now during the planning of this vacation we had origionally planned on driving down and stopping along the way, but then scored an awesome deal with a Magical Express participatiing airline. Which I have always wanted to try (I'm a dork, this I know). We should arrive and be ready for lunch at Disney!

Now to the PICTURES I promised you all... I am not from the south, so I will not conjugate those words.

UP NEXT: INTINERARY and DINING...
I'm Super Excited about my ADR's!

I've been wondering...

Should I post the park days and the ADR's separately or together?

hmmm... So much to ponder... :confused3
