You just lost 80 pounds! What are you Going to do next? Ending TR

So happy you were so persistent with the Doctor and that you Moms pain is lessening! Hope she is home and pain free soon.

So happy that you were able to pinpoint the issue with your mom! What relief you must (all) be feeling now!

So good to hear the positive news about your mom. :)

I've enjoyed scanning through your trip pictures this morning. I am way low on DIS time these days, but being out of school for this holiday weekend is giving me a chance to do a little catching up. I very much enjoyed the Pop and AoA pictures. :thumbsup2

Goodness, lots happening in the last few days! I am so glad you were assertive with the doctor. They may have more book knowledge, but they don't know our family member the way we do.

When a doctor told us that my mil was giving up and had no will to live, we knew that was not where her mind was at an hour before she fell. Turned out he had given her a med she wasn't supposed to have and it totally took away her ability to interact with us.

It is up to us to stay on top of things and advocate for our family members who are too weak and weary to speak for themselves. You did good! So glad the Lord led you to be persistent, even though you were so tired.

Praying now for a great recovery for your mom so she can enjoy whatever time she has left, and it sounds like there is more time left than had been expected.

And yes, hospice does a lot more than what most people realize.

I'm so glad that you listened to your gut and pushed the issue with the Dr.! And I'm extremely happy that your Mom is doing better. We all reach points where we have to be a little bit forceful, even when it's outside of our comfort zone.

God is good! I'm so glad that you were persistent and insisted to have the review the sonogram results. That made all the difference. Otherwise... :confused3 Glad to hear that your mom is feeling such relief form the pain. Hang in there and get some rest my friend. :goodvibes

Thank you Brenda. It's was an interesting few days to say the least. I can't thank you enough for your support and friendship. I love you my dear friend. :lovestruc

That is such great news! So glad to hear that your mum is feeling better after her operation. Poor thing, she must have been in so much pain :(

I have also learnt the hard way to trust your instincts when it come to doctors, and always get a second opinion if you're not happy. Good on you for standing up for your mum

Lana!! So glad to see you. Thank you for your encouraging words, sometimes we need to be reminded we are stronger than we think. I thank God He keeps showing me I am. :thumbsup2

I am so thankful that you were able to be persistent and get to the root of your mom's new pain and symptoms. I can easily see how they were confused with her cancer pain. What a relief to find that she had a disease gall bladder and was able to have surgery. I hope she continues to feel better day and I hope you and your family have a wonderful thanksgiving! :goodvibes

I am too! And we did have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I had a house full! :) My best friends daughter was getting married the Sat. to follow Thanksgiving and had a lot of extra family in town, they all came here. I believe we had about 23 people on the house at one point. And only five us were my family.

Camille, that is simply wonderful news, and to have it happen right before your Holiday is truly a blessing. Good on you for forcing the issue with the doctors. Sadly, this type of situation is far too common these days.

This post just warmed my heart especially the part with your Mom being so touched by all the prayers for her. What a lovely little community this is. :goodvibes

Thank you so much Rob. The support was so amazing, I can't thank you all enough. :)

Camille, let me give a shout out here, "PRAISE THE LORD"!!! :worship:

It truly is, Bob. And I can't thank you enough for your prayers. I know mom's outcome is a direct result of everyone's prayers. :)

I am so glad to hear this great report, you and your mom have been in my prayers. What an awesome testimony of just how great God is! I'm glad you were persistent in pushing to get answers. This is no attack on the medical field (they are excellent), but it is easy for them sometimes to see someone as just another body in their day to day routine, yet for us they are family and those we love dearly.

Agreed, I can't thank the medical community enough, they've helped my mom so much over the last few years. But we do have to keep our eyes open and look out for our loved one's, we're the only one's that can do that as well as we do.

I'm leaving for WDW on Friday (can you believe it) and will keep an eye on this thread... Yes, I am that addicted to the DIS and will actually take a few moments each day to see what is happening. You and your mom will continue to be in my prayers... ;)

Bob!! I'm so excited for you and your family!! I hope y'all have such a magical time and please take lots of pictures! ::yes:: Oh! And be sure to note all the things you can do this trip that you couldn't do before now that you have all that weight off!!

Great news Camille!!!

Thank you sweet lady. It really is good news. She's doing pretty good, slow recovery but recovery we'll take! :)

Doctors are human and sometimes it takes fresh eyes to start over and look at the patient with only the symptoms at hand.

Also I always say I live in my body 24/7/365 and I know how it works and how it reacts.

I was so grateful for those fresh eyes in Dr. Sigerfoos (couldn't make his name up if I tried), he even had hipster Ray Ban glasses on, he had to be in his mid 50's. The nurse on the oncology floor said they all call him The Foos.

And yes, you are the only one in your body 24/7/365, doctors/nurses need to listen to us a bit more and then make their assessment accordingly. Actually, I've found the nurses are the best about listening, I've found they listen to me and my mom more than anyone when we tell them things like my mom's veins roll and she has tiny little girl veins, or that her pain threshold is really high, she might not tell you when she's in a lot of pain, most of the time you'll have to ask her about it, but if she does tell you about it, then you KNOW it's REALLY BAD!! They thank us a lot for any kind of information so they can better take care of their patients. I'm so grateful for that.

Even if it was sleep deprived, annoyed and pissy, you were the only one who held all the info regarding what was already done. Clearly no one else did. :sad2:

Lots to be Thankful for this year. ::yes::

A LOT to be Thankful for this year. I'm know how blessed I am to be in a place of gratitude inspite of all that's gone on the last couple of years. It's due to all the prayers from good people, and from God holding me in His hands. I don't know where I'd be with out you all. :lovestruc

Just have to say: you're one heck of a daughter. :thumbsup2

I don't know about that, but I do know I've turned out to be one heck of an advocate!! I seem to have a head for things concerning the body and can retain those things, wish to heaven I would have acted on this knowledge when I was younger. Who knows what I would be today. :confused3 Why can't we have the knowledge of what we know about ourselves now, much younger?!?
If anyone needs a good advocate, y'all know where to come. I'm available for coaching.

PRAISE THE LORD! It's a good thing you were stubborn and persistent. Otherwise, they may have never found out about your mother's gall bladder. I'll continue to hold you and your mother up in prayer.

You can say that again!! :thumbsup2 I knew my stubbornness and persistence would come in handy at some point. :rotfl: Thank you so much for your prayer, it's good to know there are amazing people really pulling for you and your family when in time of need.

Great news! :goodvibes

Good news, Camille...so happy to hear it.

good news:cool1::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

The best. ::yes::

So happy you were so persistent with the Doctor and that you Moms pain is lessening! Hope she is home and pain free soon.

Thank you, she's doing much better. She's still in a lot pain from the cancer, but it's not so out of control like it was before the gall bladder was detected as an issue. Thank you so kindly for your support.

So happy that you were able to pinpoint the issue with your mom! What relief you must (all) be feeling now!

Yes, thank you!! And....

:welcome: party: :welcome:

Glad to her so is doing better! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you!! And I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I certainly did.

I hate to do this to you, but I know I've seen you around on the Dis a lot so I'm not sure if you've been in here before, so just in case....

:welcome: party: :welcome:

I can't thank y'all enough for your support and prayers and my mom is moved to tears to here about everyone praying for her. :lovestruc

I promise to get an update in on the TR after the holiday. I'm still excited to share our trip with you all.

I was following all your FB posts but thank you for sharing everything here. I am so thankful you kept up with the doctors and didn't take no for an answer. I will continue praying for you, your mom, and your family Millie.

that is wonderful news. God is good::yes::

Oh my gosh....SO GOOD!! And thank you. Couchy, you'll have to forgive my brain....I fell like I've see you here before but not sure so here goes....

:welcome: party: :welcome:

MeMom!!! Wow!! What a treat!! Truly!! :lovestruc

:welcome: party: :welcome:

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and to give such kind words here about my mom. I hope you had a wonderful holiday, and I hope you got to spend it with those adorable granddaughters of yours. :goodvibes I've read along, off and on over the years about y'alls trips, I've even sent a flamingo with Mickey ears on it's head in honor of your grand daughters Mingo's in the water phrase. I sent it to Brook Wozniak and said she had been officially Mingo'ed. :rotfl:

Goodness, lots happening in the last few days! I am so glad you were assertive with the doctor. They may have more book knowledge, but they don't know our family member the way we do.

They have waaaay more book knowledge, thank goodness! But I'm also grateful I have knowledge too, I'm grateful I'm fairly well versed in my mom's physical issues over the many years, and how I am able to help her with it. It's all God, I tell ya! :worship:

When a doctor told us that my mil was giving up and had no will to live, we knew that was not where her mind was at an hour before she fell. Turned out he had given her a med she wasn't supposed to have and it totally took away her ability to interact with us.

 Now that's scary, but also a very good illustration on how we need to be in tune with your family members and to stick up for them when needed. ::yes::

It is up to us to stay on top of things and advocate for our family members who are too weak and weary to speak for themselves. You did good! So glad the Lord led you to be persistent, even though you were so tired.

Holy smokes! Sounds like you did good too! And as for the tired, I was actually more awake than I thought I could have been at that hour, I know it was the Lord because as soon as I got my mom the help she needed it was as though someone let all the air out of me. I was done!

Praying now for a great recovery for your mom so she can enjoy whatever time she has left, and it sounds like there is more time left than had been expected.

And yes, hospice does a lot more than what most people realize.

Thank you so much.

I'm so glad that you listened to your gut and pushed the issue with the Dr.! And I'm extremely happy that your Mom is doing better. We all reach points where we have to be a little bit forceful, even when it's outside of our comfort zone.

You and me both!! I don't have an issue with stepping out of my comfort zone, ever. In fact the old me would probably have not done it with let's say.....as much finesse. Yeah! That's the kinder way of putting it. :rotfl: The old me, the me before God got ahold of me was an always tell it like it is kind of person and let me tell you, I was no velvet covered brick about it, I was all brick ba-by!!
I'm a lot softer and more considerate now of how I come off to others. Perfect? No! MUUUCH better? Yes!

I was following all your FB posts but thank you for sharing everything here. I am so thankful you kept up with the doctors and didn't take no for an answer. I will continue praying for you, your mom, and your family Millie.

I love ya, my little brotha.

Thank you so much Tim for all your kind words and prayers. Please know I'm always looking out for you and your family too, it's good to know there are people in your life who have your back. I know you are one of those people, thank you little brother.

Day 1 of the Parks part 20 <just kidding>....

So what does one do after surviving a run away train, and a fall down and 90 foot flume in a log and eating their first Mickey bar?

As Ms. Kat would say....'You take the slow boat to China' of course! . :rotfl: That's right! You take the best little nostalgic ride there ever was...

In all it's gloriously annoying music and brightness...

Got her!

One of my all time favorites

How amazing is this room? :cloud9: It's so beautiful.

Gotta love the sun in here.

This is not a very good picture but one of Mackie's and my favorite rooms.

I'm irritated that Israel is represented in such a very small way, not to mention barely visible unless you are looking for it. I suppose I should be grateful it's there and that it is indeed represented. :)

And last but certainly not least....

Taking the slow boat around the World will certainly make you hungry, so the next post will be at our new favorite TS!! :woohoo:

Nice pics on IASW! Great colors. Yup, that ride always works up an appetite! :thumbsup2

You can say that again!! :thumbsup2 I knew my stubbornness and persistence would come in handy at some point. :rotfl: Thank you so much for your prayer, it's good to know there are amazing people really pulling for you and your family when in time of need.
