Wow, Splash Mountain looks great after the refurb. So cool to get pixie dusted with Mickey Bars.
Are you going to get your ring re-sized?
Are you going to get your ring re-sized?
The first week was hard but now walking almost 4 miles a day and I was put on soft food yesterday and feel so much better since.
I'm so glad to hear it, Scott. I can't imagine how hard it was not to eat real food.
Love taking the train.
Great pic of Splash Mountain.
I think next month I will ride SM again. Been about 5 years now since I have.
Ooh a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. YUM! And free.![]()

I hope you enjoyed the celebration!
Hi Camille!!
ROB!!This deserves a Mark welcome!!

I'm so thrilled you are here! I really love reading your TR!! Your love for Disney is so engaging and infectious.![]()
After you you added me on FB I just HAD to locate your TR, and wow am I ever glad I did!
I'm so glad you did, it's so great to have another Dis'er here who loves Disney like you do.
Obviously I'm really late (fashionably late?) but I can't go any further without sending my heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS on your transformation. It was such a beautiful and inspiring story that it made the reveal so much more amazing. I think it was wonderful and beautiful that you broke down entering the ME. Just a great moment!
Late, schmate! I'm just happy to have you here!!
Oooh thank you, Rob. I still have a little ways to go but thank you for your kind words nonetheless. The break down in the line at ME was a bit of a surprise to me, I don't know what I was more shocked at, that I made it or that it affected me like it did. I just can't tell you how many times I sat on my bike while doing my cardio and looking at the pictures on my inspiration wall and wondering if I'd ever make that trip. Especially having accomplished what I set out to do. It really was a great moment.
I love how you checked into two different resorts and had yet to see anything else. Definitely not common but pretty neat nonetheless.
The first night was a sort of last minute add on. We really wanted a full rest day with no parks so we would be really well rested and not feeling like we had to hit the ground running as soon as we got there. Too much to fit in if we tried to do it on arrival day.
And Mackenzie is quite right in picking the LM part of AoA seeing as Ariel IS the best princess... not including my Stacey of course.I kinda love her.
Yes, yes she was. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. And yes I am getting that about you and your beloved Staycey.![]()
So great that you got a DIS meet right away. I'm so looking forward to that in December!!!
I know!! I'm seriously jealous, I so want to be there to meet you, Brenda and Em.
YAY for Day 3 and Park 1! Honestly it just goes to show how amazing this place really is where you can be there for a day and a half and not even get to a park yet.
Ahhh I so loved reading your description of Magic Kingdom. It really is all those things.
It is, isn't it?
Oh dear what a horrible way to enter the Kingdom for the first time this trip. Seriously, big props to Mackenzie for helping you through it. You've got a very mature kid there. Honestly, I read so that often and I find it so amazing and wonderful. You hear so many stories of bratty, wild, and disrespectful kids, and then I read Disney TR's which have what I'll call "Disney kids" who just seem to have their head on straight and actually enjoy spending time with their parents. It shows that Walt really knew what he was doing. So very glad you were able to move past that awful start.
Oh thank you, Rob.You are so sweet. Mackenzie really is a great kid, both my kids are. But, I will say, they certainly can be brats at times, even at Disney.
It's usually short lived, but it has happened. I think the mix of not getting enough rest and go, go, going, it tends to bring the worst out in all of us at times.
This trip, I don't think I saw one bratty moment out of Mackie, at least not that I can think of....I think the restful first two days and not having to be up early on those days made a big difference for the both of us. We were also pretty good about getting to bed at a decent time, we tried to be back at the rooms by no later than 11:00 pm, most nights it was a bit earlier. This made a big difference in our over all attitudes, at least I think it did.Mackenzie was really great on this trip, if she had a moment of needing some down time she would pull out her book and escape for a little while, even if we were just standing in line somewhere. I like that about her, she knows what to do to find her happy place.
I am so so sorry to hear about your mother. I know how hard it is to see the people who raised you, who were always so strong, be vulnerable. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thank you, Rob.
I too was completely in awe of Under the Sea. No, it's not revolutionary, but it's EXACTLY what it needed to be. And then my favourite part... getting to meet the mermaid. I admit, I kinda enjoyed meeting her too (as you probably know from FB).
Exactly!! Nothing revolutionary but done exactly as it should be. And long over due if you ask me.
I didn't get to actually meet Ariel, but at least Mackie did.I should have, I think I just hadn't gotten out of my non-picture taking mode just yet. That's a hard one to break after being in it for almost 20 years.

YES!!!! That is a fantastic combination. Splash Mountain AND Mickey bars. Good For You!
OK, I am now offically caught up. Sorry for the length, but that's what happens when you're late.![]()
I have not seen the FL train station yet! Shame on me! It's really beautiful.
Hey, Dani!!
You really must see it the next time you are there. It's so pretty, and that part of the park is really cute. Especially if you are with your nephews, they would love that part of the park, they can get drenched with the new water features.
Splash Mountain definitely looks beautiful after the refurb. It's great to see it back in its former glory!
Mickey Bars!!!!!!!! Wait, you'd never had one before? For shame! And you received them through CM pixie dust! Most excellent.
Wow, the before/after pictures of you are amazing! You worked so hard, and really did a great job. Congratulations!
Thank you, Mark! Had you not seen them from earlier in the TR? I guess I didn't put them together as well as one of my other readers did.![]()
I hadn't seen the New FL train station yet, but it looks great. Glad you had so much fun with that and Splash Mountain.
I hope you and your family will get back there soon so you can see it. I'm trying to remember if during your last trip it was completed?Maybe not, I could have sworn you were there when it was opened.
And FREE MICKEY BARS?! FREE???!!!! So awesome. That ranks 2nd on the list of greatest snacks, trailing only the Free Dole Whip.![]()
Yay for Disney keeping the awesome iron work at the train station! I love all the details they add. Speaking of details, nice refurb on Splash Mountain. It's nice to see it all spruced up.
Ah, Mickey Bars! Wait....ah, FREE Mickey Bars!![]()
Splash Mt. does look amazing, will JJ not go on that ride? You should really go on it the next time you are there with hubby, y'all can take turns incase it scares JJ.
The Mickey bar was such a magical surprise, I really felt blessed.
As for my ring, yes I will have it resized.I think you were the only one who caught me saying anything about it. It's even bigger on me now, I'll probably wait until next summer before I have it resized, this way it will give me more time to get the rest of the weight off and for the warmer months to be here. I don't want to under size it and only have the cooler months be the only time I can wear it.
Hurrah for free Micley bars! I realized I have never bought one for myself either, but I have stolen bites from the children!
JJ's been on it a few times. The last time it caused a seizure so not since, that was well over a year ago. We learned this week that he has some problems with his visual and vestibular systems working together. So his OT is focusing on that with the exercised they have him doing.
Well praise God they have figured out something for that little guy, I know how hard this has been on all of you.
Wonder if they'd let us do a baby swap for a big boy?
I bet they would. I bet if you let them know your situation they would allow you to do that.
Good idea to wait until it gets warmer to get it resized.
Hey Lady! I noticed your ring, too. I was just telling Jim about it yesterday because he mentioned that a Lady lost her wedding ring in the store yesterday.![]()
Haven't forgotten y'all.
It's been a busy weekend and last week seemed to have gotten away from me.
I've been having a bit of a tough time emotionally and needed a week of working on that said tough time and then healing from it.
Thank you for being patient and I hope you'll continue to stick with me.
What a magical way to start out the rest of our day!!
Thank you for being patient and I hope you'll continue to stick with me.
